If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to work through past experiences, therapy can be a powerful place to start. I offer a compassionate and direct approach where you can explore challenges safely while also gaining tools for real, meaningful change. My goal is to help you feel more confident, empowered, and understood. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia with experience working in substance use treatment and trauma-informed care. In my work, I’ve supported many individuals navigating recovery, trauma, and significant life transitions. I am deeply committed to creating a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered in your healing process. My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and person-centered. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, where you and I work together to better understand your experiences and identify what growth and healing look like for you. I utilize EMDR and person-centered therapy to help you process difficult experiences, build insight, and strengthen your sense of self and resilience. Together, we will create a treatment plan that reflects your goals, values, and pace. My goal is to provide a supportive, professional, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe exploring challenges related to trauma, anxiety, life stress, relationships, or substance use. I am here to walk alongside you as you develop greater self-understanding, build resilience, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll focus on collaboration and getting to know each other in a comfortable, open setting. It’s a chance for us to discuss your goals, concerns, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll take time for a meet and greet, where you can share your story, and I’ll ask questions to understand your background and unique needs. Together, we’ll start building a treatment plan tailored to your personal goals and challenges. This initial session is meant to create a space for open discussion, where you can ask questions, and we can set the foundation for our work together

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a counselor, my greatest strengths lie in my compassion, motivation, and open-mindedness. I strive to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where every client feels heard and valued. My goal is to offer a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges without fear of judgment. I am deeply committed to supporting my clients on their journey toward healing and personal growth, providing encouragement and empathy every step of the way.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use person-centered counseling as the foundation for promoting personalized growth and self-awareness.By offering a space of unconditional positive regard, I encourage each individual to explore their emotions and experiences without fear of judgment, allowing them to build a deeper sense of self-worth and trust.

EMDR

In my practice, I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a powerful approach designed to help individuals process and heal from past trauma and distressing experiences. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help rewire how memories and emotions are stored in the brain. This process allows clients to reframe negative beliefs, reduce emotional distress, and ultimately find greater peace and resilience.

Trauma Informed Care

I prioritize creating a safe, trusting environment where clients feel respected and empowered. By recognizing the signs of trauma and understanding its effect on emotional, mental, and physical well-being, I tailor my approach to meet each individual’s needs, always fostering a sense of choice, control, and compassion. This approach helps clients feel supported as they process past experiences and work toward healing, without fear of re-traumatization.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mindfulness as a grounding and stabilizing tool that helps clients reconnect with their bodies and emotions at a safe, manageable pace. Mindfulness practices—such as breath awareness, gentle somatic noticing, and present-moment observation—support clients in building tolerance for difficult sensations without becoming overwhelmed.

After seeing my past therapist for quite some time I felt it was time to get a new perspective. Sacha brought just that after one session. She was easy to talk with, funny and down to earth. I look forward to working with her through my journey.

I was worried about finding a therapist that would match perfectly, but Sacha was what I didn't expect I needed. She gives me plenty of space to explore what is affecting me currently, and gently guides me when I am lost, especially as someone with ADHD, she is super understanding.
