LCMHC, 6 years of experience
Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in based in North Carolina. I received my Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and I have been walking alongside clients during their therapeutic journey since 2019. I help adults who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, and other issues that stand in their way of being the best version of themselves.
In the first session clients can expect A LOT of questions to give me the chance to learn as much about them in a very short amount of time during the intake to help determine what treatment plan is going to work best for them. I also try to teach my clients something in their first session so they can walk away from the intake feeling hopeful.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are authenticity, empathy, and extensive knowledge about mental health. My life experiences make me relatable to a wide array of struggles that clients face because I was made into a therapist and certainly not born as one. My clients often report to me that they immediately feel at ease around me because of my down to earth vibe.
I enjoy most working with clients of trauma and seeing their symptoms improve so their beginning symptoms no long impact their ability to life the live they deserve to live. I best serve clients who are ready to change and motivated to do the work necessary for that change. Oftentimes my clients come to me stuck, overwhelmed, and eager to move forward with their lives.
I have approximately 5 years of experience using cognitive behavioral therapy with my clients. Clients have made great progress in reducing anxiousness and depression by understanding how thoughts impact how one feels and sees themselves and the world around them.
I have approximately 4 years utilizing cognitive processing therapy with clients suffering from trauma symptoms. Using this technique to process traumatic experiences in a safe environment while staying grounded in the moment has allowed many clients to live their lives more fully.
