New to Grow
These times are urgent. Let us slow down.” ― Bayo Akomolafe Let's take things one breath at a time, slowing down instead of rushing through the hard parts. I don’t believe in fixing or solving everything all at once in the hopes it does not reoccur. Instead, I offer space for curiosity, vulnerability, and connection, because that’s often where healing begins. Together we’ll practice being with your experiences, not just getting past them. I work with people facing all kinds of mental health and personal life challenges, and I especially love helping clients untangle old patterns and build new ones that feel more like them. My approach is relational and HUMOROUS, humanistic, honest, warm, and collaborative. I work mostly with teens and adults. Outside of therapy, I’m usually testing a new hairstyle, thrifting, listening to Afrobeats, or walking my dachshund, Winston-Bishop.
Our first session gives me the opportunity to be transparent about my approach. I’m not the therapist who will tell you what to do or give quick answers. I focus more on helping you understand your patterns, your emotional responses, and what’s driving your decisions so you can move in a way that actually aligns with who you want to be.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it’s grounded, direct, and intentionally challenging in a way that promotes real growth. I’m not overly clinical or passive, and I don’t lean into surface-level reassurance. Instead, I focus on helping you build deeper self-awareness, ask better questions, and make meaningful connections between your patterns, choices, and experiences. My style is thoughtful and insightful, offering honest reflections while still creating space for you to come to your own clarity. The goal isn’t just to feel better in the moment, but to understand yourself in a way that leads to lasting change.
I enjoy working with individuals seeking deeper self-awareness, emotional insight, and sustainable internal change rather than surface-level advice or quick solutions. My approach is best suited for clients who are curious about their internal world and open to reflection. If you’re looking for direct advice or quick answers, this may not be the right fit. If you’re ready to understand yourself on a deeper level and make intentional change, we’ll work well together.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT isn’t about “fixing” your feelings. “Even with this chaos, how do I still move like the version of me I respect?” You don’t need less emotion you need better positioning and acceptance with it.
