I specialize in treating people who suffer from addiction disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, shame and guilt, anger, and more. I hope you read something that sparked your interest and you will reach out to me to explore if I might be someone you are interested in working with. Peace and hope to you!
In our first session we will introduce ourselves then determine if we are the right fit to get started in therapy. I will answer questions you may have and I hope you will do the same at your comfort level. I will let you know how I think we can begin with some specific goals and interventions I will use. Once we have our base to start we will set up our meeting schedule.
My strengths as a provider are that I have many years of experience. I am fully committed to the work I do and will be your support, encouragement, guide, and help you stay motivated and accountable. I have had significant continued training and education since becoming licensed and stay up to date on new information and approaches. I am honest and practice my own self care and recovery actions. I understand the challenges that many face on their journey of healing. Addiction Disorders are my specialty as I have been working in this field over 25 years. I am experienced with co-occurring disorders of depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD and other mood disorders. My approach is finding your strengths and helping you learn how to use those to achieve the goals you have set. I have lived experience and have been in recovery 29 years from addictions and other mental health disorders. I understand how scary it can be to ask for help and to open up. I will work with you gently if that helps and if you need more direction and accountability we will build that in as well.
CBT can help change your distorted thinking patterns to ones that serve you best. I will help you understand CBT in order that you can utilize this method yourself and carry it as a tool for lifetime use.
I use Person Centered therapy to increase client engagement in their treatment. I like to listen to what you want to get from treatment and then work together with you on steps to take to get there. I will provide empathy, understanding and compassion without judgment. I want to assist you in empowering yourself to have the solutions you are looking for.
I have utilized a holistic/ mindfulness based therapy for about 15 years. I have had many clients learn to practice mindfulness meditation, gratitude, journaling with motivational support. Clients often prefer to incorporate wellness into their healing process. I work to empower clients with these methods and utilize accountability, support, assignments and process of challenges and progress.
