New to Grow
I believe that anyone can benefit from counseling. Regardless of your reason for seeking counseling, I would like the opportunity to work with you. I offer a counseling approach that uses proven techniques combined with a Christian perspective that looks to God's word for wisdom and understanding. If you are seeking a mental health professional that is also a practicing follower of Christ, I invite you to reach out.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First sessions are typically a "get to know you" session. We can discuss counseling goals, questions you might have about my approach, or we can jump right in and get started!
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have specialized training in trauma and anxiety, mental health nutrition, telehealth, grief and bereavement, premarital counseling, adoption and foster care and in working with children, adolescents and teens. I counsel from a Christian worldview and often times incorporate play therapy and art therapy into sessions when appropriate.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I specialize in individual counseling related to grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, issues related to marriage, children and spirituality. I understand that grief is not always related to a physical death, but can take on many forms and be caused by many things. Grief can be all-consuming and at times feel never-ending.
Christian Counseling
I am a Christian counselor and use a Christian world view in therapy sessions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have specialized training in using CBT and use it in most all sessions.
Grief Therapy
I have specialized training for the local hospice in providing grief and bereavement therapy.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use IFS therapy when appropriate for trauma and processing of past difficult events.
