I am Dr. Tarasha Lloyd. I have 20 years of experience in the field of social work and have been a therapist for the last 11 years. I have extensive experience providing therapy to youth, adolescents, families, groups, couples, military service members and veterans, and individuals of various races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing(MI) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) as my primary modalities. My goal as a therapist is to help you acquire self-sufficiency. Meaning that you are able to learn skills and tools that work for you and apply them well beyond our time together, ultimately improving your overall quality of life. My approach is collaborative, not authoritative. Consider me your teammate when it comes to improving your mental and emotional health.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be spent primarily in rapport building. I would like to learn more about what brings you here, what personal goals you have and what questions you may have for me. Therapy can be scary. The idea of speaking with a stranger about personal details, especially the first time, is daunting for many. Let's ease into the process, together.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

Though I utilize formal treatment methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, I like to understand each client as an individual and establish rapport. This helps build the Client-Therapist connection and make Therapy not feel like such an awkward, scary process. Starting Therapy for the first time can evoke a lot of fear. I try and make this process as comfortable as possible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strength lies in helping my clients tackle challenges that create barriers to them being the best versions of themselves. Whether that is depression, anxiety, self-esteem/confidence issues, trauma, or the nuances of learning how to manage stress, this is something that I love to do and have done for many years now.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am a great fit for the following clients: - women experiencing life transitions, learning how to find balance or wanting to address self-worth/self-esteem issues that may be rooted in adverse childhood experiences. - Individuals (both male and female) that want to learn how to manage anxiety and depression. - Individuals (both male and female) who are coping with grief due to loss of a loved one, ending of a relationship (I.E.- divorce) and other major life changes/endings. - Single parents also welcome
