My aim is to help clients navigate major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress — especially when life feels uncertain, heavy, or out of control. Whether you’re dealing with a big change, emotional burnout, or financial pressure, therapy with me is a place to slow down, get grounded, and start making sense of what you’re going through. I take a warm, supportive, but direct approach to therapy. I won’t just nod and listen, I’ll help you notice patterns, challenge what’s keeping you stuck, and build practical tools so you can feel more steady, confident, and in control of your life. My background is a clinical social worker working full time in medical social work so I witness people's life change every day in major ways. This has lead me to prioritize self care and build intentional ways to help myself and others manage stress. My top self-care activities include traveling, spending quality with family and friends, seeking out thrilling adventures, discovering new RNB music, and walking. I'm hopeful that we can identify some coping skills that work for you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a PhD in Social Work, with an emphasis on mental health education. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. My professional work is informed by both extensive clinical training and deeply rooted life experience. I was raised by my grandmother and grew up surrounded by a large extended family where substance use disorders and mental illness were present. These experiences shaped my understanding of resilience, compassion, and the long-term effects of unaddressed emotional pain. I am a Christian Woman of God, a wife, a mother of two emerging adult children, and a grandmother to three. I have also experienced three miscarriages, which has deepened my sensitivity to grief, healing, and life’s most difficult transitions. I am a believer in Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life. My faith is central to who I am. When appropriate and aligned with a client’s values, I integrate scripture and faith-based principles into the therapeutic process. Clinically, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, bipolar disorder, and chronic medical conditions impacted by mental health challenges. I integrate evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused strategies—grounded in compassion, understanding, and clinical integrity. I believe that all people are born precious and free. Along life’s journey, challenges may leave individuals feeling unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. I am here to help you examine areas where you may feel stuck, while honoring your autonomy and inner strength. Therapy is a space for reflection, self-awareness, and growth—free from judgment and negative self-talk. Therapy can be life-changing. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or at a crossroads, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, frustrated, or disconnected on the inside. Whether you’re navigating chronic pain, anxiety, eating or body image concerns, relationship/couples communication struggles, fertility challenges, substance recovery, or LGBTQ+ identity questions, there is a way forward. With over 15 years of experience in therapy and care coordination, I take a whole-person approach. Therapy with me is a space where you can speak openly about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without fear of judgment. Together, we explore what’s been getting in your way and identify workable, realistic steps toward change. I believe therapy works best when it feels human, safe, and real. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys walking alongside people as they sort through life’s challenges and begin to understand themselves more clearly. Many of the individuals I work with feel anxious, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of their direction. My role is to help you slow down, gain insight, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. My work is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt therapy, and Bowen’s concept of differentiation. In simple terms, that means we explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with curiosity rather than judgment. We look at the different “parts” of you that may be in conflict and help you develop the ability to stay true to yourself while staying connected to others. Over time, this often leads to healthier boundaries, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of balance. I value honest conversation and believe meaningful growth comes from awareness paired with action. Therapy with me is collaborative and compassionate, but also practical. I want you to leave sessions with insight you can actually apply in your daily life. On a personal note, I’m married and a proud father of four adult children. I enjoy traveling, spending time on the golf course, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. I believe growth doesn’t stop at any stage of life, and I try to live that belief myself. If you’re ready to understand yourself more fully and create lasting change, I’d be honored to support you in that process.

“But no matter how practiced a person was at hiding their feelings, their bodies always gave them away in the end. It was unavoidable. Emotions painted the blood; happiness, anger, sorrow.“ - Kingfisher Our bodies often speak long before we do. If you’re noticing changes in your mood, your ability to regulate emotions, or your sleep, it may be your system asking for care. You deserve to prioritize yourself and your healing, and the fact that you’re here is already a courageous beginning. My name is Kaitlyn, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I work with adults navigating trauma, trauma responses, addiction, and anxiety, and I currently have three evening openings (8–9pm) on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Breaking the cycle of trauma often means tending to the symptoms you feel day‑to‑day while also exploring the deeper places where you may feel stuck. I take an open, empathetic, and collaborative approach to help you understand how trauma has shaped your life, drawing on evidence‑based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). These methods support both symptom management and the healing of experiences that may have held you in survival mode for far too long. I strive to meet every client with genuine connection and respect, honoring the complexity of your experiences and the strength it takes to seek support. You are the expert of your own life; with thoughtful guidance, you can move toward recovery and begin to thrive again.

Welcome! I am Kimberly. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience providing therapy. Many of us desire a sense of peace, connection, and well-being within ourselves and in our life. Yet life circumstances and even parts of ourselves can prevent us from having these experiences in our day to day lives. Providing a safe and non-judgmental place to explore your struggles and emotional pain is essential to my practice. I feel grateful to be able to support those who desire to grow and heal. PLEASE NOTE: I work from 8am-3:30pm Mon-Thurs. I do not have late afternoon or evening sessions available.

Namaste, my name is Ashwini Gupta and I am Therapist/Intuitive Life Coach specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Vedanta and Mindfulness-based practices. With 20 plus of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges, I am passionate about empowering my clients to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives truly being in touch with the essence of soul identity. Using ACT as my primary therapeutic approach, I create a warm and non-judgmental space where we can work together to address difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. ACT combines mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior change strategies to guide clients towards psychological flexibility, allowing them to better handle distress and align their actions with their deeply-held values. What is ACT? At its core, ACT is a behavioral therapy: it’s about taking action. But it’s not about just any old action. First, it’s about values-guided action. There’s a big existential component to this model: **What do you want to stand for in life? **What really matters, deep in your heart? **What is the legacy do you want to create for yourself? ACT gets you in touch with what matters in the big picture: your heart’s deepest desires for who you want to be and what you want to do during your brief time on this planet. You then use these core values to guide, motivate, and inspire behavioral change. What is Vedanta? Vedanta is one of the world's oldest philosophies which affirms the oneness of existence and the divinity of the soul. A close look at the word "Vedanta" is revealing: It is the combination of 2 words: "Veda" which means 'knowledge' and "anta" which means 'the goal of'. In this context, knowledge refers to understanding one's own divine nature- meaning and purpose in life.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Virginia rather than a city like Richmond?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Virginia. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Virginia from Norfolk to Roanoke! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Virginia.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
