**ACCEPTING ADULTS (18+) ONLY** Hi, I'm Yang. And I'm here to help you heal from self-abandonment and emotional dysregulation. Self-abandonment occurs when we struggle to stand up for our needs and live by our authentic values; often, we don't even know what they are. Those who struggle with self-abandonment don't feel like they know who they really are, and what they want, and often feel directionless and ungrounded. We feel small, afraid, anxious, aggressive and dependent on others. Emotional dysregulation occurs when we don't understand our emotions and how to manage them. They control us, instead of the other way around. We behave in ways we wish we didn't, and we build up shame around those behaviors as if they are who we are. We cannot separate our emotions from who we are. These issues often lie at the heart of different mental health struggles, such as depression, anxiety, as well as many relationship challenges. The good news is that resolving these, therefore, can potentially lead to ripple effects of change in your life. Trauma-Focused CBT
With over 15 years of experience across research, clinical practice, and personal history, I am able to identify the deep roots of complex trauma within fragmented experiences. This perspective allows me to offer an integrated roadmap, addressing multiple layers of your history simultaneously for a more direct and efficient path to resolution.
Polyvagal Therapy
I prioritize the somatic experience, specializing in resolving the disembodiment and dissociation that often accompany long-term survival. By utilizing Polyvagal Theory, I help you move out of chronic 'fight, flight, or freeze' and into a state of safety. I am deeply invested in helping you build the capacity to feel secure in your body through skilled, active nervous system regulation.
Attachment-based
I integrate attachment theory to help you decode the relational blueprints you inherited. By understanding your early patterns of connection, we can resolve the 'anxious' or 'avoidant' scripts that currently hinder your ability to trust yourself and others.
Psychodynamic
Our work goes beneath the surface to examine the unconscious conflicts that shape your identity. This psychodynamic depth allows us to address the 'why' behind your behaviors, ensuring your change is rooted in true self-knowledge rather than just a temporary habit change.
