“The courage to change is the courage to be a stranger to yourself.” We say we want to evolve, yet we cling to habits that keep us small. Why? Because the "old you"—even if miserable—is predictable. Change is disorienting because it requires us to step into a life we haven’t rehearsed. If you sabotage your growth just as things shift, you aren’t "broken". You are likely operating on an internal blueprint designed to protect you from pain, abandonment, and conflict. Your brain is pulling you back to the "unhappy familiar" because it believes staying stuck is safer than moving forward. My goal is to help you uncover the invisible scripts that keep you stuck. We bypass the cycle of "trying harder" by addressing the identity your habits are fiercely protecting. Real change isn’t a cosmetic fix; it's the brave process of letting go of who you were to make room for who you are becoming. In session, we will work on: The Fear of the New: Navigating the "liminal space"—the middle ground where the old you is gone, but the new you doesn't feel like home yet. Identity Deconstruction: Identifying the stories you tell yourself and testing their validity. Nervous System Regulation: Learning to stay present when the "alarm bells" of change ring. Developing Sovereignty: Moving from victimization to empowerment, where you are finally the one making the decisions. Results for my clients often look like: The "Pause" Reflex: Noticing the urge to self-sabotage in real-time and choosing a new response before auto-pilot takes over. Narrative Shift: Moving from a language of past failure to a focus on current capacity. Tolerance for the Unknown: Feeling "steady ground" even when circumstances are shifting. Internal Alignment: The friction between your intentions and your actions begins to disappear.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I invite you to a first session where we can discuss your goals and my approach in detail. This is a space for us to assess our fit and ensure you feel confident in the roadmap we’ll build together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring a unique blend of scientific rigor and lived experience to my practice. My background in research allows me to provide an evidence-based roadmap, while my personal journey through mental health ensures I speak with the nuance of someone who has actually done the work. In session, I provide a presence that is direct, grounded, and strategically insightful. I am committed to helping you navigate the complexity of your evolution with both empathy and a focus on long-term resolution.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work exclusively with individual adults (18+). I do not see couples, minors, or families. Specialties: Self-sabotaging behaviors & procrastination, imposter syndrome, anxiety & perfectionism, and the fear of success/failure.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I focus on clarifying your core values to help you build committed action and self-discipline. We don't rely on forced willpower; instead, by anchoring our work in your genuine values, I help you grow a discipline that is both authentic and sustainable.
Trauma-Focused CBT
With over 15 years of experience across research, clinical practice, and personal history, I am able to identify the deep roots of complex trauma within fragmented experiences. This perspective allows me to offer an integrated roadmap, addressing multiple layers of your history simultaneously for a more direct and efficient path to resolution.
Polyvagal Therapy
I prioritize the somatic experience, specializing in resolving the disembodiment and dissociation that often accompany long-term survival. By utilizing Polyvagal Theory, I help you move out of chronic 'fight, flight, or freeze' and into a state of safety. I am deeply invested in helping you build the capacity to feel secure in your body through skilled, active nervous system regulation.
Attachment-based
I integrate attachment theory to help you decode the relational blueprints you inherited. By understanding your early patterns of connection, we can resolve the 'anxious' or 'avoidant' scripts that currently hinder your ability to trust yourself and others.
Psychodynamic
Our work goes beneath the surface to examine the unconscious conflicts that shape your identity. This psychodynamic depth allows us to address the 'why' behind your behaviors, ensuring your change is rooted in true self-knowledge rather than just a temporary habit change.

I’m deeply grateful for the care and support I received from my therapist jiang . What stood out most was their direct and authentic approach. They didn’t sugarcoat things, but instead helped me face difficult truths with empathy and clarity. That honesty, paired with consistent support, helped me grow, heal, and understand myself in ways I hadn't before. I always felt heard, never judged, and truly supported. I can't thank them enough for guiding me through that journey.
