I specialize in helping clients break out of codependency and being stuck in repetitive cycles of behavior by addressing self-sabotage, low self-esteem, and developing self-sufficiency. I focus on helping you understand and manage your physical responses to the world, which leads to managing overstimulation and emotions. You'll develop a sense of control and understanding of your experiences, finding freedom from impulsivity and overwhelm so you can feel calmer and make more intentional, healthy choices. I work with individual adults (18+) only. I do not see couples, minors, or families. Specialties: -Individuation & identity development -Codependency & relationship patterns -Life transitions & life stage challenges -Boundaries, self-worth & people-pleasing -Self-discovery & personal growth -Anxiety related to change & uncertainty
You'll discuss your current symptoms in-depth and explore what possibilities might exist for therapy outcomes. We'll also discuss how my approach can work for you, including exploration of trauma and past patterns as we begin to formulate an idea of what the deeper problem is.
I provide a presence that is direct, grounded, and strategically insightful. I don't believe in circling the same ground indefinitely. Our work will be honest, purposeful, and rooted in what matters most to you. I am committed to helping you navigate the complexity of your evolution with both empathy and a focus on long-term resolution.
I work with individual adults (18+) looking to create change in their lives. You're interested in being responsible for your choices, seeking validation in your pain while breaking out of repetitive cycles to find freedom in a new life. I have a strong background with depression, anxiety, and clients with immigrant parents, particularly those of AAPI descent. I do not see couples, minors, or families.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I focus on clarifying your core values to help you build committed action and self-discipline. We don't rely on forced willpower; instead, by anchoring our work in your genuine values, I help you grow a discipline that is both authentic and sustainable.
Trauma-Focused CBT
With over 15 years of experience across research, clinical practice, and personal history, I am able to identify the deep roots of complex trauma within fragmented experiences. This perspective allows me to offer an integrated roadmap, addressing multiple layers of your history simultaneously for a more direct and efficient path to resolution.
Attachment-based
I integrate attachment theory to help you decode the relational blueprints you inherited. By understanding your early patterns of connection, we can resolve the 'anxious' or 'avoidant' scripts that currently hinder your ability to trust yourself and others.
Psychodynamic
Our work goes beneath the surface to examine the unconscious conflicts that shape your identity. This psychodynamic depth allows us to address the 'why' behind your behaviors, ensuring your change is rooted in true self-knowledge rather than just a temporary habit change.

I chose those two specific qualities because I think they're inclusive. I would've liked to select each attribute for Dr. Yang Jiang as she is the first female therapist I've had that has made me feel safe, seen, and heard, and not overly coddled, and especially never patronized.

Yang has a clear understanding of the Psychology of trauma and how it affects the human brain. I have never had a therapist like her before. She is very astute and perceptive. I get a lot out of each session. I appreciate her very much and I am so grateful I found her. I highly recommend Yang as a therapist.
