LCSW, 7 years of experience
You’ve been through more than most realize—betrayal, loss, or a life change you didn’t choose. On the outside you’re functioning, but inside it’s hard to find steady ground. You may feel anxious, disconnected, or weighed down by sadness from a recent life change. I help adults heal the roots of post traumatic stress, relational betrayal, anxiety, and depression, guiding them through life transitions with compassion and evidence-based care. My approach is compassionate, practical, and evidence-based, blending CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, ACT, DBT-informed work, somatic therapy, and parts-informed therapy. Clients describe me as grounded and understanding, with a gift for getting to the heart of what’s really going on. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can process your experiences, build resilience, and notice tangible progress over time.
In our first session, we’ll slow things down and focus on getting to know you—what’s been happening in your life, what’s brought you to therapy now, and what you hope to change. You’ll have space to share at your own pace, and I’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand your experiences and how they’ve impacted you. We’ll talk about your goals and begin identifying the patterns or challenges you want to work on most. I’ll also share how I work and answer any questions, so you leave feeling heard, understood, and with a sense of what our work together will look like. My goal is for you to walk away from the first session feeling that this is a safe, collaborative space where real progress is possible.
My greatest strengths are creating a safe, grounded space where you feel deeply understood and never judged, even when sharing the hardest parts of your story. I have a gift for getting to the heart of what’s really going on beneath the surface, helping you connect past experiences to what you’re feeling and doing now. What stands out about my approach is that it’s both compassionate and practical. We don’t just talk about what’s hurting — we uncover the root causes and actively work toward healing them. I blend evidence-based methods like CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, ACT, DBT-informed work, somatic therapy, and parts-informed therapy so you can feel real, tangible change over time. The results my clients often see are feeling more grounded, less weighed down by the past, and better equipped with tools to navigate life’s challenges. Many share that they begin to trust themselves again, respond differently in relationships, and feel steady in ways they didn’t think were possible.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are struggling with the pain of relational betrayal, those navigating significant life transitions, or are grieving the loss of important relationships. I specialize in working with individuals whose lives have been impacted by depression and anxiety related to life changes, childhood trauma, stress, or grief.
I have used CBT to treat a wide range of issues from anxiety to low self-esteem and unhelpful behaviors stemming from adverse childhood experiences. CBT has helped my clients recognize how certain situations and events trigger unhelpful thoughts, behavioral patterns, and emotions. With this information we have worked to become more self-aware, get to the root of why we're feeling the way we are, reduce and manage symptoms, and overall live a more empowered life. CBT has helped my clients to change their way of looking at previous problems and have allowed them to achieve goals they've always dreamed of.
I use somatic therapy as a body-based techniques to help clients notice and release where stress or trauma is stored physically. By working with breath and awareness of sensations, clients learn to regulate their nervous system and restore a felt sense of safety.
I have used narrative therapy to help clients identify and change the harmful stories they tell themselves. This method has allowed those who work with me to see themselves in a more empowering light. I work with my clients to retell their stories, discovering times when they were resilient, strong, or capable, offering new perspectives on their identity and experiences.
Using ACT as a treatment method, I help clients make space for difficult emotions without letting them take control. Through mindfulness and values-based work, clients learn to separate from unhelpful thoughts and take steps toward building a life that feels purposeful and authentic.
I have utilized Psychodynamic Therapy to increase self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on the present behavior and patterns of those I work with. With this approach we focus on how our early life experiences and unresolved conflicts influence present behavior and emotional states.

It was great meeting Jahaira. It was easy to be honest and intentional on this first session. I was able to understand myself a little more. I am definitely looking forward for the next session.
