I’m Dora, an LCSW based in Florida specializing in therapy for medical professionals, healthcare workers, and high-acuity staff experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, anxiety, and work-related stress. With over 6 years of clinical experience and an MSW from the University of South Florida, I work with nurses, residents, first responders, and hospital staff who are exhausted from long shifts, high responsibility, and nonstop pressure. My approach is direct and practical, centered on boundaries, nervous system regulation, and coping strategies that actually fit a healthcare schedule. Therapy here is realistic, grounded, and human because life is messy, work is demanding, and sometimes it really do be like that. I offer early-morning therapy sessions for shift workers who need support before or after long hospital hours. If you work in healthcare and are tired of holding it together, therapy here is built for you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first therapy session is designed to feel structured, supportive, and low-stress. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my priority is understanding your concerns, goals, and what’s contributing to your stress, anxiety, or burnout, especially if you work in healthcare or a high-pressure role. We’ll review how therapy works, set clear expectations and boundaries, and talk through what you want to get out of treatment. This initial session is not about rushing into trauma or rehashing your entire life story. It’s about creating a plan that makes sense for you and establishing a foundation for meaningful, results-focused therapy. My approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and grounded. Sessions are meant to support your nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and help you leave feeling clearer, not depleted. Therapy should fit into your life, not add another layer of stress. If you’re seeking therapy for burnout, anxiety, or work-related stress, the first session is simply the starting point and one you don’t have to overthink.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my work apart is the range of environments I’ve practiced in and the fact that I don’t approach therapy from a bubble. I’ve worked in aging services, where caregiver burnout isn’t theoretical it’s daily, exhausting, and often invisible. I’ve also worked in correctional settings, supporting young adults navigating suicidal ideation, homelessness, domestic violence, and complex trauma. Real-world problems, real consequences. I also bring lived and professional experience with the military community—first as an active-duty member and now as a military spouse. As a contractor, my work focused on domestic abuse cases and prevention within military systems, giving me a grounded understanding of high-stress, high-stakes environments and the cost of constantly holding it together. All of that shapes how I show up in the therapy room. My approach is practical, adaptive, and human tailored to you, not a one-size-fits-all model. I balance honesty with compassion, use humor when it helps, and keep things real and non-judgmental. And yes, if the moment calls for it, an appropriately placed F-bomb is absolutely on the table along with your coffee or tea.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are people who are ready to do the work. You don’t need to have it all figured out, but you do need a willingness to be honest, curious, and open to change. I work best with clients who are resilient, motivated, and prepared to actively engage in the therapeutic process, not just talk about change, but actually practice it. I know how exhausting it is to search for a therapist, finally book an appointment, and then feel like you have to present your life story in a rushed highlight reel just to get someone up to speed. Therapy here isn’t about starting from scratch every session or re-explaining the basics. We move intentionally, focus on what matters, and work toward real, measurable progress. If you’re open to exploring deeper emotions, including the ones you’ve had to suppress to survive, and you’re looking for therapy that’s focused on results, not endless circling, you’ll likely be a good fit. All you need to do is schedule using your insurance and show up. We’ll take care of the rest.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
As your seasoned therapist, I'm like the Michael Scott of the therapy world, leading you through the Dunder Mifflin of your mind with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as my trusty Dwight Schrute. Together, we're like Jim and Pam, navigating the ups and downs of your thoughts with humor and heart. Just like Michael's "World's Best Boss" mug, I empower you to embrace your quirks and conquer your challenges. With ACT, we're not just surviving, we're thriving, like a Dundie-winning team! So, grab your coffee mug (or tea, I don't judge), because we're about to embark on a journey through the Scranton of your psyche, where self-compassion reigns supreme and personal growth is our creed. Let's turn those "that's what she said" moments into "that's what I accomplished" victories!
Narrative
I incorporate narrative therapy alongside other approaches to support you in sharing your story. Here, interruptions like "that's not what happened" or "that's not true" are nonexistent. Instead, I create a safe, respectful space where you can freely narrate your experiences, recognizing the significance of storytelling in the therapeutic journey.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I bring extensive experience in Solution-Focused Therapy to the table. From working in juvenile detention centers and with older adults in gerontology to serving in the military as an intervention specialist, I've honed my skills in this modality across diverse settings. In our sessions, I leverage this approach to collaboratively uncover solutions to your challenges. Rather than dictating what you should do, I'm here as your ally, providing support as we navigate together toward the solutions that resonate most with you and your unique circumstances.

I love working with Dora. She’s probably the best therapist I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. I feel seen, heard, and respected. Found her on my third try finding someone back in 2024. The first therapist said something inappropriate and the second therapist before coming across Dora was dismissive. I felt helpless I wasn’t going to find a good therapist. When I found Dora my world got lighter after feeling it being so dark. So grateful now to have someone amazing at her job.
