My name is Jasmine Ricks, Licensed Therapist in Texas and Virginia. My mission is to empower individuals by equipping them with practical tools and knowledge. It is important to me to create a space that is nonjudgmental & welcoming as you navigate challenges related to life stressors impacting your mental health & well being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I utilize a collaborative approach. You are the expert on your own experiences, my job is to work as a team with you to assist you with reaching your goals.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I have provided a number of speciality therapeutic services including working with POC, Women, and Members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach to therapy is relaxed, I am patient and prefer to consider my client's comfort level when tailoring my approach. I am also flexible in my approach depending on the client's needs. As a LMFT and LPC, I implement a range of practical and evidenced based methods such as CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative therapy to name a few.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Since 2015, I have provided a number of specialty therapeutic services including working with individuals, couples, and families with a focus on multiculturalism, trauma, and relationships. As a LMFT, I received a formal education and extensive training to uniquely equip me to work with clients by understanding the importance of the broader influences impacting an individual's life such as family, community, society, race, gender, and orientation. I also understand the direct and indirect impact of being a member of a marginalized group in today's society. I am aware of the importance of having a therapist who gets it. I give my clients permission to be their authentic unapologetic selves. I want my clients to feel understood, heard, and seen.
