Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in southern Indiana. I received my Masters from the University of Louisville and have been practicing for 12+ years in different settings including private practice, hospitals, schools, and long-term care facilities. I help clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief/loss while using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, or Narrative Therapy.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with clients for 12+ years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with clients who are committed to personal growth and development. These clients come into therapy with a clear sense of what they want to achieve and are willing to put in the effort required to reach their goals.
I am experienced in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT). I use CBT to help clients identify their negative thought patterns and beliefs related to a problem, then teach them strategies to challenge and replace those thoughts with more realistic and helpful ones.
I am experienced in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). I use CFT to help clients develop compassion for themselves and others by using the following techniques: mindfulness, breathing, and imagery.
I am experienced in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I use EFT to help clients become aware of their emotions, express them openly, and then work to understand and manage them by identifying the underlying cause. Some of the techniques I use are de-escalation, restructuring emotional experiences, and building a secure emotional bond between client and therapist.
I am experienced in grief therapy. I create a safe space for clients to openly express their emotions related to the loss. Some of the techniques I use are journaling, creating rituals, discussing memories, and setting goals to manage the impact of loss.
I am experienced in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). I help clients identify and address interpersonal issues that may be contributing to mental health problems.
