“Hello, I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky. I graduated with a master’s degree in 2004. Before completing my bachelor’s degree, I worked in fast food, retail, and banking. As an older adult, I finally achieved my dream of becoming a counselor. Since then, I have worked in community mental health, primarily counseling children and their families. I spent 10 years conducting testing and evaluations for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Most recently, I have been a mental health counselor at a college university, helping young adults adjust to independent living and being away from home for the first time.”
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our initial session, we will focus on discussing your concerns. I may inquire about any previous issues and collect additional information necessary to comprehend the challenges you're facing. It's important for us to assess whether I am the suitable therapist to assist with these concerns. My goal is to begin building trust immediately, so you can feel comfortable and assured that improvement is possible. Additionally, I aim to conclude the session by providing some form of assistance or information to support you until our next meeting.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My life experiences, coupled with my professional background, have afforded me the opportunity to work with children and their families, engage in foster care, address trauma issues, assist adults with severe mental illnesses, and support those seeking greater independence. As an LPCC-S, I am qualified to supervise counselors seeking licensure. I leverage my experience and conduct thorough research to ensure that each individual's specific issues are addressed optimally.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
“I have extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have found it effective for a wide range of issues, as its various interventions can be tailored to an individual’s specific concerns. I believe CBT equips individuals with valuable information and, through practice, helps them develop coping skills that can address both current and future challenges.”
