I am career Clinical Psychotherapist devoted to aiding individuals, couples, adults. teens, families, and veterans suffering emotional stress and mental health issues. My priorities focus on persons experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and communication problems, grief and trauma recovery. I am committed to illustrating how the vital quality of resilience can be acquired through learned coping skills and accurate self=perception. Activating improvement plans, achieving goals, and building confidence are the center of my person-centered counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I first clarify to clients that they are in a safe and private space with me. I also advise them they are free to share anything that are compelled to say, excepting indications for harm or violence toward others. Further, I advise clients my role is to be their advocate. but not to tell them specifically what to do. They have my full attention and support in session and they may request more time in therapy as we work in tandem to set treatment goals and plans to achieve them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The essence of effective counseling is the capacity for active listening. This quality guides all my interactions with clients. believe what clients say in sessions has precedence over Establishing initial and lasting rapport with clients is a strong feature of how I provide therapy. Engaging clients' ability to help themselves is the most important strength I have.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

Suicidal ideation must be addressed without delay if intimated or expressed openly by a client. It is a priority to assure the client their thoughts of self-harm are irrational, then focus on their e lectic experiences and relationships that have triggered a potential for suicide. Careful review of client's thinking bound with repressed emotions is at the core of CBT and suicide prevention

Compassion Focused

The roots of Compassion-focused therapy derive from Carl Rogers' person-centered approach with distressed and repressed clients. Presenting wholly receptive listening and a safe environment instills an initial sense of acceptance for them --conducive to more fluid dialogue and problem solving,

EMDR

EMDR therapy is a unique approach to helping clients who have experience singular or varied episodes of trauma potentially influencing their thoughts, perceptions, and behavior in harmful ways. The psychology of establishing neurological balance and thus more ordered thinking is the essential goal of EMDR. This therapeutic method requires patience and repeated assurance to clients that they can learn to manage and quell negative memories over time. Demonstrating to clients they can shelter themselves as harmful thoughts arise is the key outcome of effective EMDR
