Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Kentucky. I attended Northern Kentucky University for my degree in Psychology and attended the University of Cincinnati for my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked for the last 20 years in the mental health and addictions field. I work specifically with women to address areas and types of anxiety, trauma, depression, and addiction to empower them to make their lives more manageable.
In our first session, we will be gathering puzzle pieces! We will discuss what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing and how your life has been impacted, background information about various areas of your life, as well as identifying some of the goals that you would like to achieve in therapy.
Some of the things that you will encounter with me are encouragement to process how you're feeling and addressing how to take action on the progress you want to achieve. You will experience a non-judgmental, empathy focused, caring therapist who can help you to feel more comfortable with the experience of therapy.
I love working with women who are ready to focus on taking back their peace and trying to regain a sense of strength and empowerment in their lives. It is so gratifying to see clients engage, show dedication to their progress, and are willing to put in the work because they know they deserve to invest in themselves.

In my experience, CBT is very effective and beneficial, particularly in the areas of anxiety and ptsd. I have used it for a multitude of client concerns. I use this treatment method to help with adjusting a combination of stressful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

As soon as I heard Valerie speak with such warmth, I knew immediately that I'd found the best fit for me. I felt so comfortable being open with her answering all of the intake questions, and I appreciated that we could laugh together. I'm excited to see how I continue to grow throughout our sessions, and I'm confident that she will help me work through all the things.

Val is always sincere and attentive. I am always eager to have a session with Val! She is great at bringing different perspectives to situations, and patiently coming back to a subject when I have gone off track (which I do a lot). She's helping me be a better mother, learn to better communicate with people, and love myself so I can be there for the ones I love.
