Hello! My name is Amaris, and I’m glad you’re here :) Do you ever feel like you’re carrying more than your share — emotionally, mentally, or relationally? Do you find yourself doubting your needs, overthinking decisions, or feeling responsible for everyone else’s wellbeing? Many women move through the world with expectations and pressures that shape how they show up. My work focuses on helping women understand the “why” behind their emotions and behaviors so they can move through life with more clarity, confidence, and self‑trust. Sometimes personal growth means recognizing that you’re either going to deal with your stuff, or your stuff is going to deal with you. Therapy is a powerful place to begin that process.

My name is Kimberly Watkins. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who cares deeply about helping you make your way. Being a native of a small town, I understand the challenges these communities face in gaining quality mental health care. Therefore, after college and getting married, I pursued higher education to fulfill my passion of becoming a counselor. Along the way, I have helped others in various capacities including displaced children and teen moms, working at a homeless shelter and grief center, teaching Social Emotional Learning classes to children in a school setting, providing school-based and outpatient therapy for children and adults in multiple mental health agencies and schools. I have also worked as a Group Therapist for teens/preteens in PHP/IOP Program. Through all these experiences I have gained a vast understanding and knowledge of challenges individuals and families face. I want to continue this journey by providing private individual therapy services. I seek to provide compassionate, client-centered counseling to individuals and families in communities. I seek to help individuals and families grow strong roots by encouraging clients to explore and utilize resources in their communities including family, friends, and faith-based services. I seek to help people address issues they are experiencing such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relational challenges. I will meet each client where they are and help them work through past and current pain to build a more balanced and manageable life. My goal is to support individuals and families in building healthier, more resilient lives across generations. My personal passion is to strengthen communities by increasing access to compassionate, high quality mental health care.

Hi there! I’m Donnah, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor and the owner of Phoenix RISE KY LLC. I work with a diverse range of clients and have extensive experience supporting people through trauma, grief, major life transitions, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, and other challenging life experiences. Much of my work centers on trauma and the ways past experiences can continue to affect emotions, relationships, self-perception, and everyday functioning. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can make sense of what you have experienced, develop practical tools for coping, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. My work is grounded in evidence-based therapy while honoring the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. The one question I get most often by clients and peers is: Why did you go into the counseling profession? My response is always the same. First, I have always had a desire to help people in a time of need or distress. I have felt this way as far back as high school. Secondly, I went through a debilitating anxiety disorder in my mid-twenties. I know first-hand the helplessness and desperation mental and emotional pain causes. I never condone a therapist sharing with a client, they know how the client feels unless they themselves have experienced a similar type of pain. Lastly, I believe in the power of counseling and the benefits it can offer. Counseling is very different from medicine. Counseling requires the client to be actively involved in the process of healing and growth rather than taking medication and waiting for it to work. Counseling empowers a client to by allowing them to see their progress towards the life they desire on a daily, weekly, and even monthly basis.

Sometimes it feels like the actual apocalypse is just around the corner. We are bombarded with terrible headline after terrible headline. Inflation is making it harder to pay the bills, let alone have fun, or reach our dreams. With so much going on in the world, it’s no wonder that there are greater rates of anxiety and depression! In the midst of it all, you might be trying to figure out who you are, what you want from life, how to have that honest conversation with your friend, setting boundaries with a parent, whether to switch jobs, learning to be more comfortable in your skin, etc. It’s a lot to manage. I can help. I am a licensed psychologist and consider myself a generalist with a wide variety of clinical interests including issues related to family of origin, self esteem, identity development, issues related to oppression and marginalized identities, depression, anxiety, stress, and interpersonal relationships.

My name is Michael Starr, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I believe therapy is more than just problem-solving, it’s a place to rediscover who you are, heal what’s been hidden, and move forward with clarity and strength. I work with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm. My style is honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of the human experience. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT, but I also hold space for what cannot always be explained, your story, your meaning, your growth. Clients often come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we uncover the patterns keeping you there and build the insight, skills, and resilience to move through them. You won’t be rushed or judged. You’ll be heard, supported, and challenged when needed. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to start. Healing begins with one honest conversation, and I’m here to take that step with you.

I am a therapist who provides a warm and steady space for clients navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, parenting stress, and major life transitions. I help people make sense of what they’re going through, feel more grounded and in control of their emotions, and move toward a life that feels lighter, clearer, and more hopeful. My approach is relational and practical, drawing on DBT, CBT, and mindfulness based strategies to support meaningful and sustainable change. I began my career in medical social work before transitioning into full-time therapy specializing in neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and life transitions. I earned my LCSW while working at UK Healthcare, and spent ten years working with a wide range of patients. Since August 2025, I have been in private practice, where I’m able to offer intentional, client centered care with a healthier work life balance. I earned my Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky in 2026.

Welcome, I am glad you're here. Reaching out for help can be scary and I applaud you taking this first step. My approach with therapy is to provide a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, where you can talk openly, feel heard and begin to work through what has been weighing on you. I see therapy as a collaborative effort to find what works for you to feel stronger, more balanced and ultimately, more connected to what matters most to you in a world that often seems "un-connected". I have worked in the field of social work for over 20 years. I have been working at the Masters level for the last 9. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through a wide range of challenges. My professional background includes work in hospitals, nursing facilities, home health and hospice care, where I provided compassionate support to individuals coping with aging, illness, grief and major life transitions. My experience also includes supporting families involved in protective services, working with families navigating difficult circumstances. Across all settings, my focus has remained on providing client-centered care while helping individuals and families build stability, resilience, and hope. I have both a Bachelors and a Masters in Social Work. In my lifetime I have been a daughter, sister, partner, wife, mother (to both human and fur baby) and friend.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
