I have worked in Counseling and Human Services for 20yrs. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Lexington Kentucky since 2015. My goal is to provide a non-judgmental environment for clients to openly share their experiences. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the foundation of my treatment approach as I assist clients with identifying negative thinking patterns that support anxiety and depression.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I provide a brief introduction about my therapeutic approach, so they have an understanding of who am as a clinician. Moreover, it is my goal to create an environment so they can openly share why they are seeking counseling. When clients leave their first session, I want them to have a clear understanding what change and/or improvements will look like for them. This will help me create a treatment plan that is customized to their needs, which will help us assess progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience in working in Human Services for 20yrs I have learned the importance of good communication, supportive reflections, active listening skills, and unconditional positive regard. At the end of the day, I want my clients to know I genuinely care about their wellbeing, and I will walk next to them with a therapeutic plan to help them address their needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use evidenced based principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat clients with Anxiety, depression, anger, substance use disorder, personality disorder, self-harm, and bipolar disorder. According to CBT, for every situation that we experience in life, we have automatic thoughts, which influence how we feel, how our body responds, and how we behave. Using CBT, I support and validate the client's experience/event(s). I develop a treatment plan to help the individual learn coping skills and build their self-confidence. Moreover, I seek to empower individuals to be in charge of how they think, feel, behave, and experience the world around them.
