LMFT, 31 years of experience
Hello, I'm Jonathan. You know the challenge for anyone who wants to change is to find the inspiration and motivation to start and then the confidence to continue. Once you do, you will find that the blessings far outweigh any hardships it took to get there. I will help you find the inspiration, motivation, and confidence you need to embrace the challenge to change. You cannot possibly imagine all the wonderful things yet to happen. I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 30 years in the mental health field. I hold a Doctorate in Biblical Studies, a Master's in Professional Counseling, and a bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology, and I am a Certified Brain Health Coach.
In the first session I will ask you "What is your best hope for counseling?" from there we will build rapport with each other and explore how the best way to get you from where you are to where you want to be. The session environment will be light, comfortable, and non-judgmental.
I use the knowledge I have gained as a Brain Health Coach Trainer and integrative mental health provider to look at brain function and the body systems that account for the majority of mental health symptoms as possible causes or contributors to the struggles my clients are facing along with any psychological and spiritual issues.
Counseling is a verb. It is best that a person starts therapy with the desire to take action to get to their desired destination. Since I am a christian counselor is it helpful that a person's faith is important to them.
Well trained in mental health counseling and adding my knowledge of the Bible and the Christian faith adds to the health and hope in the change work.
