Life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows; it can be filled with challenges, difficulties, and hardships. I believe that life is all about perspective and the way we react to problems. Our trials and tribulations are opportunities for us to grow into stronger and wiser individuals. When challenges arise, most people ask, "Why?" I encourage my clients to change their mentality by asking, "How?"—how can I use this to grow and learn, make myself smarter and wiser?" I am a firm believer in empowering clients with the tools and knowledge needed to live a more fulfilling and productive life. With 8 years of sobriety and personal experience battling my own challenges, I know how helpful therapy can be in helping a person rebuild their life and become the person they want to be.

Hi, I'm Ann, and I'm glad you're here. I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a master's in Psychology. Are you thinking about therapy because you feel overwhelmed? Do you have anxiety or depression? You're not alone. It takes a lot of courage to start therapy, and I'm happy you are considering it. I have a deep empathy for others' struggles, and I think of it as an honor to attempt to help people live more meaningful lives. I try to create a warm and welcoming environment where you feel accepted and never judged. Life can be tough, but counseling can facilitate new perspectives and insights about barriers that might exist in your life. It's also very helpful to have someone who is objective devoted to your issues! I will meet you where you are, focus on your strengths, and work towards YOUR goals.

Hello! My name is Amaris and I'm happy you're here :) Do you ever feel confused by your behavior? Do you act in ways that are incongruent with who you want to be? Do you struggle with self-doubt and wish you could have more confidence? There are always reasons why people do the things they do. My approach is to help alleviate shame and unnecessary guilt by helping clients understand the “why” behind their emotions and behaviors. I use a trauma-informed approach with all my clients and aim to create an emotionally safe space to explore vulnerable thoughts and feelings. Sometimes personal growth means accepting that you're either going to deal with your stuff, or your stuff is going to deal with you. Therapy is a great place to start the healing process.

Hello! I'm Dr. Diedre Wade, and I'm honored to walk alongside of you to better your life. I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in Kentucky and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety and or OCD, self-esteem, and/or self-care. I have a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, so my full-time job is teaching counselors-in-training how to help their own future clients. I also have a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with over 13 years' experience working in private practice, inpatient behavioral health, residential treatment, Drug Court, and a jail. These different settings have developed me into a compassionate and caring provider who is eager to help! I'm also a competitive bodybuilder, so I know how pressures of sport and goals can lead to perfectionism and anxiety. After trips to Africa, I renamed my practice Acacia Vitality: I got to see some mighty Acacia trees (along with animals who love them)! These trees stand the test of time and survive elephants shaking them as well. Like the acacia tree that thrives in the harshest conditions, true mental toughness and resilience grow strongest through adversity. I was so inspired by this concept that I now center my practice and research around it.

Thank you for considering therapy with me. I'm Anna Marie Bunch, a licensed therapist dedicated to supporting you on your journey to healing and self-discovery. Below is more about my background, education, experience, and therapeutic approach. I am licensed in Kentucky, with over 11 years of professional experience. My journey began in a men's residential recovery program, where I gained invaluable insights into life and healing. For nearly a decade, I have worked as a private practice clinician in various settings, including K-12 schools, offices, and via telehealth. Additionally, I am an entrepreneur, having founded a nonprofit in 2016 aimed at reducing therapy barriers. I hold a Master's of Education in Human Services and Counseling, graduated with honors. As a lifelong learner, I have also taught as an Adjunct Professor for around 8 years in Addictions and Human Services. When you work with me, you can expect unconditional love, support, and understanding. I provide constructive feedback to help you identify cognitive distortions, irrational beliefs, and unhealthy behavior patterns in a supportive, non-threatening way. Often, clients find their own answers through a safe space to process their thoughts and emotions. We will likely begin by increasing the love you have for yourself, as self-love, advocacy, and respect are crucial for facilitating change. I have extensive experience helping clients with various issues and believe in your strengths to overcome challenges. My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, complemented by evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I am also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an effective tool for treating past trauma and future-based fears. I am proud of you for taking this step and am here to listen, support, and understand you, no matter your circumstances.

Hello! First things first, I would like to give you massive amounts of credit for making the choice to begin/continue your journey to healing, health and happiness. Whether you choose me or another provider it is extremely brave to make the effort to look into beginning or continuing with therapy services. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent approximately ten years in the field with the last seven being in the clinical setting as a therapist. I have worked with youth, ages 4-21, who have experienced trauma and were placed in out of home care or in the independent living program through the state. I have worked with individuals of all ages who struggled with addiction and dual-diagnosis, and I have worked most recently with individuals who have survived or were impacted by sexual trauma. These groups also included individuals with more common diagnosis such as Depression and Anxiety. I love helping people find their own light and worth within themselves. When I work with clients my goal is to ultimately foster independence and the ability to function well in the world without my help, however; I also believe therapy every now and then is similar to an oil change for your brain. Life is ever changing and having a consistent person you can trust and check in with can be extremely healing and helpful. I believe the most important thing you can do as a clinician is to genuinely care about the people you serve and I feel that those I work with are able to tell that I am authentic in attitude.

I am a therapist specializing in adult mental health and addiction disorders. I have 10 years of experience providing individual, family, group, and couples therapy. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Here at Grow I offer individual and couples counseling. Individual counseling is billed through insurance or self-pay at $100 per hour. Couples counseling is self-pay only at $150 per hour. There is a no show fee of $100. There is a late cancellation (less than 24 hours) fee of $100. My mission is to be used by God to help others reach their highest potential and purpose in life; to represent and teach tolerance, respect, and harmony; and to promote social and economic justice. I believe that all people regardless of race, culture, age, gender, religion, physical or mental disability, and sexual orientation are entitled to basic rights and fair, humane treatment. I believe that all members of society should have the same basic rights, protections, opportunities, obligations, and social benefits. My practice is governed by the belief that you are a valuable human being. You have the right to express your ideas and opinions openly and honestly. You have the right to direct and govern your life. You have the right to stand up for yourself without anxiety and make choices that are good for you. You have the right to change your mind. You have the right to not be liked by everyone. You have the right to be wrong. You have the right to make requests and refuse them without feeling guilty. You have the right to ask for information. You have the right not to be responsible for others’ behaviors, actions, feelings, or problems.

Like the name of my practice, I believe individuals are also capable of blooming throughout even the most difficult of circumstances. As a therapist that treats anxiety, ocd, depression, and trauma it is my goal to help individuals have a better understanding of themselves, process past pain, and feel confident in moving through life. I aim to be that safe guide that will assist you with reaching the life you want. Ultimately, you are the boss and have a say in what changes you want to make and your goals. With the help of my expertise, I will assist you with finding meaning in your life, facing painful situations, and living a life you value. Throughout this process I encourage transparency and open communication, as this is your life not mine. YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT SPOT. I understand, I have been there too, watching myself go through life while feeling like a shell of a person. After experiencing several traumatic events, the loss of both my parents in my early 20’s, and experiencing homelessness I was left reeling with a variety of painful emotions. With the support of some wonderful individuals, I was able to grab control of my life and continue to live boldly. Therapy with me isn't about becoming someone "different.” There is no such thing as perfection, only progress. I believe you deserve to be heard, validated, and supported. Your story is yours and just as important as anyone else’s story.

Hello, I'm Jay. I like to keep a flexible approach with my clients since every individual case is unique. Exploring relationships and how to build healthy ones (especially the relationship with one’s self) is typically a top priority in our sessions. Also, identifying and developing your values will be an important aspect of our work together. I’m a generalist and enjoy working with adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, or relationship concerns. I'm confident we can find ways to create balance in your life and manage the ongoing stressors.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Kentucky rather than a city like Louisville?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Kentucky from Bowling Green to Lexington! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Kentucky.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD)?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), is filtering therapists in Kentucky that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
