The journey of life can bumpy, confusing, frustrating, and unpredictable. Hello, I'm Dr. Suzann O'Koon, a licensed psychologist with 30 years of experience. I'm a mother and grandmother, who, at mid-life, returned to graduate school to pursue my the next step on my life journey. I had been an elementary school teacher, a community volunteer, and then a stay-at-home mom. I am sharing this with you because transitions and change can be difficult at times, and I've been there: done that!.
Our sessions begin with you telling your story, your journey, and what challenges (bumps in the road) you are experiencing. Together we will plan what kind of path towards 'smoother sailing' you would like to begin. This path may change as you develop personal insights and perhaps a different view of the scenery along the path.
With my unique background, I listen to your story with a depth of experiences that will help you reach your therapy goals sooner. You will leave sessions equipped with tools to use in your life and are focused on your journey.
Let me help you with the journey you are on. Whether it is career, relationships (new or old), or needing to make personal growth discoveries, help is here.

How we think about life affects how we feel about life and ourselves. What we do to improve our life affects how we feel about our life. Adjusting (improving) both, what we think and how we behave are essential to moving from negative emotions to more positive emotions.

We only had one session so far, but she is dedicated to finding an understanding before moving forward. I appreciate that outlook, and I look forward to continue working with her.
