Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker near Lexington, KY. I have 10 years experience and have worked in a community mental health center and in a counseling center at a small university. I consider it a privilege for clients to share their story with me and entrust me to help them get to where they want to be. I help clients engage in the change process and support them on their journey to becoming more healthy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will have a brief introduction then get started on what brings you to therapy. We will discuss specifics of your difficulties. This will help me formulate a treatment plan and frame follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have 10 years experience working with a diverse client population ranging from young adults to older adults. This experience has given me a wide range of knowledge and an eclectic skill set. I am very adaptable as a therapist and able to help clients with a wide range of problems.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT in my practice for 10 years. Clients have been able to increase their self esteem and manage their emotions more effectively as a result. Together we will explore how your beliefs and perceptions about your environment and relationships affect your well-being. I will assist you in challenging these thoughts and behaviors to develop a more adaptable way of relating with the world.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have utilized DBT for 10 years in my practice. This has helped my clients understand and regulate their emotions more effectively as well as improve relationships. Using DBT, I will work with you to identify triggers to emotional dysregulation and learn new ways to cope. DBT therapy helps to increase self esteem and improve relationships.

Motivational Interviewing

I have practiced Motivational Interviewing for 10 years. Motivational Interviewing assists clients who are struggling with a problem in their lives and need support in knowing how to start the change process. I have helped many clients struggling to make changes in relationships, substance use, or just trying to develop better habits. Together we will work to identify your goals as well as roadblocks and how to overcome them.

Trauma Informed Care

I have utilized Trauma Informed Care for 10 years. TIC helps clients to feel supported and understood when engaging in the therapy process. Using TIC, we will work together to identify behaviors that are responses to past traumatic events and learn new ways to respond. This helps to improve relationships and respond more effectively to triggers to trauma.
