Hi! I am a LICSW in the state of Massachusetts that has been practicing in psychiatric social work for over 30 years. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings providing consultation, assessment and ultimately treatment that is short term and specific to my client's needs. I am passionate about educating others and removing the stigma of mental health issues.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up session.
Having worked for over 30 years in psychiatric social work, I have extensive diagnostic and assessment skills as well as real understanding of what clients are experiencing when they initially seek counseling.
I see clients 18 to 80 who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and often substance abuse. Many of my clients have experienced some type of trauma which is impacting their functioning and quality of life. Often, they are struggling with relationship issues both in work and personal life. My role is to help clarify and ultimately empower clients to seek the change through the process of open dialogue.
MI is a collaborative, evidence-based practice that can clients and therapists develop a treatment plan that is based on the concept of change. It involves open ended questions, an empathetic approach and encourages clients to have motivation in their decision-making process.
