LMHC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
I have been doing therapy since 2015, i have been in the social work field since 2008. i believe this sets me apart from other therapists because I really learned how to meet people where they were in the growth/healing process by being in the field. my experience comes from more than just school. i have a lot of life experience as well.
i am a dive-right-into therapist. i want you to feel relief after the very first session. we start at your pace and go from there. it is my goal to build that rapport so you feel comfortable sharing your story with me.
what sets me apart from other therapists is that i have the field experience of being in social work before becoming a therapist. many therapists only have the experience of school. i am also very compassionate with my approach with the ability to challenge people when needed. i am not a beat around the bush type of therapist, it is not a strength of mine.
it is my goal to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for all walks of life. i got into this field to help all people, not just some. i have a lot of experience with addiction, couples, and the LGBTQ community. i am in the best position to serve people who are willing/ready/able to do the work of therapy. there will be times when i assign homework because a lot of the work of therapy is done outside of the session. therapy only works if you do the work and in a position where you are ready to be challenge to grow/heal.
I have been using DBT since I started therapy. i like to use mindfulness as a means of coping skills and emotional regulation.
