Welcome to the opportunity to create the life that you want. Most people need help and support at some point. Good for you for reaching out. If you are finding yourself struggling in a specific area or in general, talking to someone can help you get back on track. I firmly believe that therapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist. Working together, we can utilize your strengths to optimize your situation. This is a safe place to be open and explore the things that are troubling you. If you are dealing with anxiety, depression, past hurts or relationship issues, I am here to help you find growth and healing. I want to help you find understanding and concrete things to do to move forward such as setting clear boundaries, improving coping skills, and identifying and using your strengths. My main focus is working with people in high-conflict relationships or who are dealing with high-conflict people. This takes a real understanding of the issues and patience and you will find both here. I will meet you with respect, compassion and evidence-based techniques to help you find your best life.
In the first session, it is important to establish rapport so that you feel comfortable discussing your personal issues. Giving an overview of the issue/issues is the next step so that we can develop a treatment plan to keep our work focused toward a successful outcome.
I have worked with many different issues but have a focus on helping people who are in emotionally abusive relationships or who are dealing with high-conflict people or personality-disordered partners. Sometimes an individual is not even sure what the problems are but they do know something doesn't feel right in the relationship. We can work on identifying problematic behaviors and issues and finding resolutions to them.
