I'm a licensed clinical social worker providing therapy/counseling services in Florida. I provide services both in-person or through video call. I specialize in services for adult males who are going through life struggles and mental distress. In Florida, I’m one of the few mental health professionals who focuses primarily on men's issues. I offer a male-oriented approach that’s highly beneficial for clients struggling with men’s issues. I do this by offering a space that acknowledges and works through challenges that are often unique to men or more commonly experienced by them.
During the first session, therapeutic process, structure, policies and procedures will be discussed. We will also explore your experiences surrounding the presenting problem(s).
How my passion developed As a young man, I struggled with handling tough emotions at work, home, and in society. I faced depression, anxiety, worries, and fears while navigating the community. I often needed space to be alone. It was very isolating to face my insecurities and fears after setbacks. Deconstructing my negative emotions and feelings turned out to be an essential and healthy part of my development. In retrospect, by addressing head on my experiences of anger, sadness, shame, guilt, fear, and discontent, I have taken ownership of my unique identity of a flourishing and thriving man. It enabled me to develop a sense of compassion towards other men facing difficult challenges at work, home, and the social environment. Therefore, turning toward a career in the field of mental health was a natural outcome for a vocation. How I help other men In my training as a therapist as well as many years of experience working with male clients, I've studied and used various perspectives that have helped me understand men's inner thoughts and motivations in their roles at work, home, and society; thus, furthering my ability to assist male clients in their personal development. I understand that as men, we are always expected to be mentally strong and to be reliable role models in society. However, we are at the same time in an ongoing process of development forged by a life full of challenges. During these shifts in life, we are often left scarred and tried to carry on hiding the mental wounds, as we try to make sense of the resulting shame and vulnerabilities. In hiding these unhealed wounds, some aspects of our personality are threatened by specific contexts at work, family life, or the social environment. In treating these mental problems, I use evidence-based psychological tools and an eclectic treatment approach that involves proven therapeutic modalities.
