(she/her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience with a wide range in many areas including substance abuse, mental health, grief counseling and couples counsel. My therapy style is very interactive, compassionate and warm. My therapeutic modalities vary on the client, no one person is the same. Some of the modalities used are Client-Centered, Motivational Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, CBT , Solution Focused Therapy and Psychotherapy. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect and will meet you where you are. I strive to create a warm and open environment and have found being interactive allows an individual to be comfortable with talking and engaging. Listening as a therapist is an extremely important skill as well as being able to communicate effectively. Finding the right therapist is not always easy and for some can be discouraging, I commend you for reaching out and truly hope I can be part of your journey.
In our first session we do a brief introduction, where I say a few things about myself and then ask you to do the same. Then we discuss what brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to achieve and if you are uncertain we discuss the goals together. I strive to create a comfortable and safe environment so that in our first meeting you will feel open to asking questions if you have any.
I have worked extensively with grief, loss and caregiving, as well as substance abuse and depression and anxiety. I also have run support groups in the above mentioned areas as well and have worked with a wide range of age groups. I also have been involved with the LGBTQ+ and have provided couples counseling, handling relationship issues such as open relationships and polyamorous relationships within the couple as well as other areas of concern.
I truly enjoy working with a variation of people, I enjoy open communication and a person or people that like to interact between each other and myself. I appreciate being able to help build a person and seeing them take the tools they work on to better themselves in the areas that they feel they are struggling in.

I chose Trish short of “out of the blue” but I am so pleased! She listened, she made me feel heard and validated my experience without ever offering “solutions”, just suggestions for a different way of seeing things. It was a great experience and I am looking forward to working with her.
