Terell Jones
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work in the state of Florida who helps individuals, families, and communities cope with life's obstacles and relational conflicts to work towards thriving instead of surviving. My intent is to create a space that allows for the client to be their true self.
My lived experience increases my cultural competence and enhances my skills at a therapist.
The environment is one of mutual respects that promote respect and honest communication. The client is helped in understanding they have everything within to achieve in growing and to accomplish the goals established during treatment.My goal-setting approach is highly collaborative, individualized, and goal-oriented. I first try to learn about the you and how you developed your viewpoints. I then help you as the expert of YOUR life to create therapeutic goals. Ultimately, you will determine what success looks like in their life with me along the journey to support you navigate your journey.
First session
During my first session with someone I create a warm and welcoming space, and help a person to think about what they want to get out of therapy. I use this session also to answer questions a person may have, and to explain my approach.
Strengths
My greatest strength is my diverse lived experience. I have lived in multiple countries, served as a Army officer, and worked in multiple mental health settings. My lived experience increases my cultural competence and enhances my skills at a therapist.
Ideal clients
I have a passion for helping people dealing with life transition, trauma and relationship issues. I am experienced in working with clients who are living with depression, anxiety, bipolar, gender issues, codependency, and marginalization.
