New to Grow
Hello! I’m Tara Melvin Jr, a licensed mental health therapist and owner of Clio Pathways LLC. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Rowan University. I have experience working with marginalized community members, including those who identify as poly/kink, LGBTQ+, as well as college students and adults (18+). My work focuses on helping clients navigate life transitions, trauma processing, attachment concerns, self-empowerment, and stress and anxiety management. I also have experience working with couples to strengthen communication and connection.
In our first session, you can expect to spend time sharing an overview of your journey: what brings you to therapy, your experiences, and your goals. This session helps us build a full picture together, and we’ll fill in details as our work continues. I strive to create a space where you feel supported, empowered, and safe to show up authentically. My intention is to help you feel seen and understood as we begin working toward your growth and healing.
My therapy style is collaborative, compassionate, and direct. I believe therapy works best when it feels like an authentic human connection, where honesty, humor, and curiosity are welcome. I am solution focused and not afraid to offer a healthy challenge when it can help you look inward and take meaningful action.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are balancing work, relationships, school, or simply trying to figure out who you are and where you are headed. I work with adults, college students, and young adults who may be feeling stuck, anxious, or uncertain about the future. My goal is to offer a grounded and nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, explore what is going on, and develop tools that truly help.
