I’m Christy. I am a dedicated therapist, a loving mother, a sister, and a good friend. I provide individual counseling in Asheville, NC and via telehealth to adults who are in search of peace and relief from symptoms related to mood instability, anxiety, relationships, life stress and/or trauma. As someone who has been through hard things and who has an intimate understanding of how difficult adulting can be, I approach my work as an Asheville counselor with genuineness, compassion, and encouragement. I believe in a person-centered and solution-focused approach where we work together to identify your goals and to develop a concrete plan to accomplish them, at your own pace.
In a therapy session, you can expect a safe and confidential environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I will listen attentively, offer support and provide guidance to help you explore and understand your emotions and behaviors. Together, we will work towards setting goals, developing healthy coping strategies and finding solutions.
My hope is that during our work together you feel safe, seen, and free to say whatever needs to be said to improve your life in ways that feel important to you.
I use CBT to help you identify maladaptive thoughts and behaviors so that we can implement thoughts and behaviors that will help you to feel better.
I used parts work to help you learn about yourself and how to learn to operate from self, rather than from wounded or manager parts.
