Welcome. My name is Cheria Morgan, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with over a decade of clinical experience. I work with individuals who are navigating life transitions, emotional fatigue, identity shifts, and the desire for deeper alignment in their lives. My approach is collaborative, intentional, and grounded—supporting clients as they move from insight into meaningful, sustainable change. Therapy with me is a space for clarity, integration, and growth. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, strengthening internal resources, and helping you move forward with purpose and confidence.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we will take time to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will review relevant background information, discuss your current concerns, and begin identifying goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you. This session is also an opportunity for us to determine whether we are a good fit. I will share how I typically work, and together we will establish a structure and cadence for our sessions moving forward. My goal for the first session is to create clarity around next steps and to ensure that you feel informed, supported, and ready to engage in the therapeutic process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to help clients develop clarity and self-awareness in a structured, thoughtful way. I am skilled at asking intentional questions that support insight, pattern recognition, and a deeper understanding of how past and present experiences shape current behaviors and choices. I also bring a strong ability to help clients translate insight into practical, sustainable change. Rather than remaining in exploration alone, my work focuses on helping individuals identify internal strengths, build emotional regulation skills, and move forward with greater intention and confidence. My approach is client-centered and integrative, considering the whole person while remaining grounded in clinical practice. I work best with clients who are reflective, engaged, and ready to participate actively in their growth process.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are navigating life transitions, emotional fatigue, or ongoing patterns that no longer align with who they are becoming. My ideal clients are reflective, open to self-exploration, and ready to take an active role in their therapeutic work. I work well with clients who are seeking clarity, emotional balance, and practical tools to support growth and change. Many of the individuals I support are managing stress or anxiety, adjusting to shifts in identity or roles, or working to improve emotional regulation, relationships, or parenting dynamics. Therapy with me is a collaborative process grounded in respect, honesty, and shared responsibility for growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to distress or feeling stuck and work to challenge unhelpful thinking in a practical, supportive way. My use of CBT is collaborative and flexible, focusing on helping clients build awareness and apply tools that support emotional balance and intentional decision-making in daily life.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, emphasizing collaboration, respect, and client autonomy. I work alongside clients to clarify goals, explore experiences, and create a therapeutic space where they feel heard and empowered to engage in their growth process. I believe meaningful change occurs when clients are active participants in therapy and feel supported in developing insight and direction that aligns with their values.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness-based practices to support present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, and thoughtful responses rather than reactivity. These techniques help clients slow down, notice patterns, and develop greater clarity around their internal experiences. Mindfulness is introduced in a grounded, accessible way and adapted to each client’s comfort level. When appropriate, it may be integrated with a client’s personal faith or spiritual practices.
Strength-Based
I take a strength-based approach that focuses on identifying and building upon each client’s existing resilience, insight, and capacity. Rather than viewing clients through a deficit-based lens, therapy highlights strengths that can be leveraged to support growth and change. This approach helps clients move forward with greater confidence, self-trust, and a clearer understanding of their ability to navigate challenges.

This is new to me, and I need some time to process everything. As this is our first session, I appreciate that Cheria is very warm and understanding.

Beginning therapy was hard but I made the right decision choosing Cheria! I really feel like I'm talking to a homegirl who can relate to what I'm going through. We've laughed, cried, and had some "come to Jesus" moments. I don't feel judged or belittled, and am learning a lot about myself! Im glad to have found her!
