Kindly note: At this time, I am currently accepting new clients for weekday appointments only, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Hi, I’m Stephanie—a therapist who helps overwhelmed parents of young children feel calmer, more connected, and more confident in how they show up. If you’re navigating the sleep-deprived, overstimulating, “why is my child melting down again?” years (been there!), or moving through a major life change and worried about how it’s impacting your child, you’re in the right place. I specialize in the emotional side of early parenthood—helping parents understand both their child’s behavior and their own patterns, triggers, and emotional responses through a developmental, relationship-based lens. Many of the parents I work with come in feeling stretched thin—burnt out, reactive, guilty, overstimulated, or stuck in patterns they swore they’d break. If you’re feeling this way, you’re not alone—and it makes sense given how much you’re carrying. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, less reactive in hard moments, and more confident in how you respond to your child.

I’m a therapist who believes deeply in the power of connection, compassion, and honest conversation. Over the past 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people facing trauma, ADHD, grief, and the many transitions that come with aging, and I approach each person’s story with respect and genuine curiosity. I work gently and collaboratively, creating a space where you can slow down, breathe, and explore what you’re carrying without judgment. As someone who has always shared my life with animals, I understand how grounding and healing those bonds can be, and I welcome clients who find comfort and strength in them too. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered as you move toward a life that feels more steady, meaningful, and hopeful. Outside of my work, I’m someone who finds joy in simple, grounding things. I love reading, spending time in nature, and making enthusiastic—but often less‑than‑successful—attempts at gardening. Building LEGO is one of my favorite mindfulness activities, and I enjoy attending local outdoor festivals, practicing quiet moments of mindfulness, and spending time with my pets, family, and friends. These parts of my life help me stay balanced, present, and connected, and they often inform the warmth and authenticity I bring into the therapy room.

I am wired for hearing about struggle, metabolizing it and offering a listening ear or practical guidance. My extensive experience enables me to create a comfortable space quickly so we are able to identify and work on your therapy goals without delay. Former clients praise my attentive listening, sense of humor and ability to offer straightforward, effective solutions for achieving peace. I was born and raised in the DMV and later relocated to Florida to leave behind icy sidewalks and Beltway traffic. While the political climate here doesn’t always align with my values, telehealth has allowed me to stay connected with and support individuals whose perspectives resonate with my own. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of experience. I am an EMDRIA trained EMDR practitioner working toward certification. I offer telehealth appointments to residents of Florida, Maryland and Virginia. My work focuses on anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, long-term recovery from substance abuse, adoption triad issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, racial discrimination, grief, and burnout. I provide compassionate, down-to-earth guidance to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. My approach is client-centered. I use trauma-informed and strength based interventions to help my clients feel empowered and find peace.

Greetings, my name is John Luke. I am a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in helping people to effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns using cognitive behavioral techniques. I have worked with a range of populations, nearly all ages, and also have experience with addiction treatment and life-coaching. I work with people to develop insight into the source of their problems, how their core beliefs about the world might be hindering their progress, and focus on their natural strengths to overcome those barriers with practical skills that generate sustainable change. Some of my other specialties include short-term, solution-focused therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy techniques; psychodynamic approaches; and marital counseling. Some of the problems I am particularly keen on solving with my clients include issues with self-image and confidence; dating and relationships; boundary-setting and assertive communication; as well as general anxiety management; and learning to identify and productively resolve emotional unrest. I am also very experienced in cognitive restructuring, which is just a fancy way of saying helping to change the way a person thinks about the world and their place in it. I also enjoy aiding people in goal setting and identification, meaning-making, and navigating family conflicts. If you feel any of this could be helpful or useful to you, please do not hesitate to reach out! (Note: I do work with couples, but only on a cash-pay basis. Also, I only work with ages 18+)

At some point in life, most of us feel stuck — in tough transitions, relationship or family stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, or just the overwhelm of trying to hold everything together. When you're in it, it can feel lonely and hard to see a way forward. You don’t have to figure it out on your own. I see therapy as a space where you can exhale. A place to sort through what’s weighing on you, understand yourself more deeply, and reconnect with the strengths you already have — even if they don’t feel accessible right now. I’m here as a supportive sounding board and a steady, honest voice, helping you move toward becoming a more confident, grounded, and self-trusting version of yourself. Hi, I’m Paula, a Licensed Psychotherapist providing services in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas, and Delaware. I earned two Master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: an M.Phil.Ed. in Professional Counseling and an M.S.Ed. in Counseling and Mental Health Services. With nearly a decade of experience, one thing I know for sure is this: the “self” is incredibly powerful. When we better understand who we are, why we respond the way we do, and what we truly need, real and lasting change becomes possible. It’s an honor to walk alongside people in their healing and self-discovery, and I’d love to support you on your journey.

Greetings Fellow Traveler! My name is Marcy and I have been working as a mental health therapist for a little over 17 years. I have worked in a variety of settings from community-based to college counseling centers. I have worked with a variety of folks from ages 2 and up as well as folks from a variety of backgrounds. I have come to specialize in working with folks from marginalized populations, including PoC and the queer community. I have also worked with folks from a variety of religious backgrounds. I take an existential approach to the therapeutic experience - believing each of us to be on a journey with the ultimate goal being self-actualization. As we face many hurdles towards that end goal, therapy can be a great way to accommodate your forward momentum! I love this work, and I bring myself and my energy to each session 100%. I tend to use my sense of humor a good deal in my work. During our sessions, the focus will be on you and you only. We will focus on what you would like to focus on and individualize our work to meet your goals. I have been fortunate to share in a lot of peoples' journeys thus far in my career, and I look forward to the honor of being a part of yours. Thanks for your consideration!

Sasha empowers individuals to overcome personal obstacles to improve their relationships and themselves. Research shows that unhealthy relationships can cause both emotional and physical stress, whereas healthy relationships can enhance and improve overall well-being. Sometimes therapy can be hard. It can bring up stressful emotions or deep thoughts that take some time to process, challenge who we are, or even upset us! Or sometimes we just get so caught up and busy in life that we forget that we deserve to make time for ourselves. Sasha is here for whatever you need. She hopes to hear from you soon!

~A Place to Pause, Reflect, and Heal Hello, I'm Dr. Ebonee. Do you feel pulled in a million directions, struggling to keep up with relationships, work, and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help individuals manage anxiety, avoid burnout, and break free from cycles of trauma, stress, and self-doubt. Together, we can identify what’s not working and get you back to balance. My interest in spirituality, which is not tied to any specific religion, allows me to offer a holistic approach to healing that addresses the emotional, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of well-being. I emphasize trauma’s role in shaping core beliefs, psychosocial stressors, and generational patterns, recognizing its imprint on the central nervous system. My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), coaching, and positive psychology to reframe trauma narratives, foster self-discovery, and disrupt patterns of depression, anxiety, and re-traumatization. Whether you're navigating trauma, relationship challenges, or cycles of stress and overwhelm, I provide a safe space where healing begins. I know it may seem impossible, but what if I told you that you have the power to change your life? Now is the perfect time to start your healing journey. In our sessions, I’ll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques to help you overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let’s work together to build communication strategies, set boundaries, break cyclical trauma patterns, and foster self-worth for long-term stability. I’m excited to be on this journey with you! Here's a helpful video that explains the therapeutic process and what you can expect during your healing journey. https://youtu.be/R4B9BPBiIHo?si=HGNawKl7l1gVUv-z FYI: I recognize that my schedule sometimes books 3–4 weeks in advance, so please feel free to reach out if you need a sooner appointment.

Search therapists by insurance

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Maryland rather than a city like Baltimore?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Maryland. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Maryland from Hagerstown to Ocean City! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Maryland.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Family Conflict?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Family Conflict, is filtering therapists in Maryland that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
