I have lived a long and colorful life. Like everyone else, I've made good and bad choices and learned from each. I have 22+ years experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My role is to offer another perspective, a way to see life more fully and function better, no more, no less. I don't pretend to have all the answers but only one slice of wisdom. I just share what can help someone. Some people are not yet ready to be helped. Yet for those who are feeling lost on life's journey and are willing to listen and learn, I'm here to assist. My life work can be summed up in three words, "offering people hope. " "Wouldn't take nothin' for my journey now." - Maya Angelou "The past is gone, and there is left only a blessing." - Kahlil Gibran "Be true to yourself, and you will be false to no one else." - William Shakespeare "How very lucky are we, for just a moment to be, part of life's eternal rhyme." Charlotte's Web, movie "Not all who wander are lost." J.R.R. Tolkien

Hi everyone! I'm Josh. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy for social anxiety because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, poor self-worth, and poor self-confidence. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfulling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!

Hello, my name is Angie, and I would be honored to hear your story and experiences. As a social worker, I have a strong ability to connect with people and quickly build rapport. I have been working in the field for 10 years and have been a LICSW since 2021. I believe it's important to engage actively in therapy and put in the necessary effort to make changes that will help you reach your goals. I often use humor and seem to have the ability to make people feel like they are talking to a friend...albeit a friend that is very honest, sometimes sarcastic, can challenge you, accept you, fight for you, and sometimes make you mad. Thankfully, it's all part of the process of making sustainable changes! I attended training to work specifically with law enforcement, veterans, and other first responders. I was an embedded social worker in a MN police department for 3 years. I utilize different therapeutic modalities depending on your individual needs. Some examples include: Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I pride myself in delivering non-judgmental, empathetic, individualized services to ensure the therapy experience is created for you.

I think one of the most important parts of therapy is finding the right "fit". That relationship is key in helping grow, trust and meet any goals that you might have going into the therapeutic process. Let me give you a glimpse of who I am! I'm Amy, a LMHC, who has been in the counseling world for over 15 years and love what I get to do. I started my career in the community health sector which I learned so much and worked with diverse groups of people with an array of various needs. I have worked in school settings as well as in homes. I have been deep within the community in many of my roles along the way. I have developed many techniques along the way as not one intervention will work for everyone. Some of the modalities I use are EMDR, CBT, Motivational interviewing, solution-focused techniques as well as a combination of these. I meet people where they are, maybe having to learn how they are even feeling let alone how to cope with that feeling. Maybe we have a tool, but if no one ever took the time to teach us, then what good is that tool?

Hi there! I'm Sara. I’m the owner of HONEST Health Center. Is everything becoming… too much? We all face challenges and obstacles that can hinder our personal growth and prevent us from operating on our highest vibrational frequency. In today's fast-paced and stressful world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of ourselves. Frankly, we may even feel lost. Therapy offers a confidential space for emotional expression, self-exploration, and improved mental health. I am a licensed therapist trained to work with individuals, couples, children, and families. As a holistic practitioner, I use a range of techniques to help individuals understand their symptoms and foster a greater sense of self-awareness. My goal is for my clients to better understand the connections between their body, mind, spirit, and relationships and how these elements play a role in mental health. All aspects of 'the self' are explored in my practice.  Whether in-person or telehealth, we can work together to create long-lasting healing. _______________________________________________________________________ *Note: my caseload is full for couples. Couples will be waitlisted for the time-being.* ****Call me for in-person scheduling if your preferred time is not available on the calendar!****

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist nearing 20 years’ experience. I work with a foundation of Solution Focus and Systemic Therapy. I’m often looking for "the funny" in the moment & the world around me. I greatly enjoy sarcasm, snark, & satire. I'm often daydreaming of going on cruises with my wife & occasionally think about bringing our children as well. I'm fairly casual but have been told I "Clean up well". I work with a foundation of Solution Focus and Systemic Therapy. I’m often looking for "the funny" in the moment and the world around me. I greatly enjoy sarcasm, snark, and satire. I'm often daydreaming of going on cruises with my wife and occasionally think about bringing our children as well. I treasure a long nap in a hammock, and I love movie. Once upon a time I even submitted a short film to the Cannes Film Festival (wasn't selected) but I did enter. Prior to being a therapist, I found myself listening and caring, as people would end up just talking to me and telling me their life story. I decided I should put that to good use. Additionally, growing up my family was fortunate to be able to adopt and quickly we became a larger family that could not remember when my sister was not part of the family. Through the process, I realized how important family and relationships. I appreciate and look forward to the chance to help others get through the rough patches, when life hits hard. When the answer is not easily found, we take time to look at all the options and find something, at least one step towards better. We're not looking for perfection, just looking for progress, a little bit here and there.

I hold a deep respect for each person's unique story. I am passionate about supporting people in finding greater connections with themselves and those around them, and in being more present in their daily lives. Together we can craft an approach to counseling that works for you. I am a bilingual/bi-cultural therapist; able to do therapy in both English/Spanish. I am sensitive to inter-generational conflicts that arise due to acculturation issues. Therapy provides an opportunity to wonder about experiences, emotions, and desires that we may not otherwise have space to explore. This process can deepen our insight into the impact of personal history on our current behavioral and emotional patterns, allowing us a greater sense of self and choice in our lives and relationships. In the course of psychotherapy, we will create a space of non-judgmental curiosity, including space for creativity, playfulness, and humor. I help my patients develop and strengthen their ability to manage anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges so that they can live a more meaningful, mindful, and enjoyable life. I encourage my patients to work hard to grow and change, achieving the life they desire. I seek to develop a caring and supportive relationship with all my patients. You are a unique human being. There is no "one size fits all" therapy. Let's talk and see if I am the right fit to help you reach the goals you want for yourself. Together we will work to deepen self-awareness, presence, and sense of possibility. I use she/her pronouns. *** Please note that I am only able to schedule appointments on the hour (i.e. 3:00), and cannot accommodate appointments on the half hour (i.e. 3:30). Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve the scheduling platform. ***

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
