Anxiety spiraling? Stuck in survival mode? You’re not broken—just burnt out. I’m Stacey, a licensed therapist who helps adults break free from substance use, anxiety, and emotional overload. Using proven tools like CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy, we’ll build real-life coping skills that actually work. No judgment, just support. Let’s take the first step toward feeling grounded, clear, and in control again.
Your first session with me is all about getting to know you—what brings you to therapy, what’s been challenging, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We'll go over your intake information, discuss confidentiality and boundaries, and begin exploring your goals. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, current concerns, and what’s most important to you right now. This is a conversation, not an interrogation—you're encouraged to share at your own pace. By the end of our session, we’ll talk about a plan for moving forward, and you’ll leave with a clearer sense of what therapy with me will look like.
What makes my work unique is the blend of real-world experience, evidence-based methods, and a down-to-earth, compassionate approach. I’ve spent years working with individuals facing addiction, trauma, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm—often when they’ve hit a point where "just coping" isn’t enough anymore. My background in substance abuse counseling has sharpened my ability to meet people where they are, while helping them move toward meaningful, lasting change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients break patterns of negative thinking, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with their strengths. I’m direct but supportive, and I believe therapy should not only help you understand your struggles—but also give you the tools to actively change them. My clients leave sessions feeling more grounded, more in control, and more hopeful about where they’re headed.
I work best with individuals who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them—whether it’s substance use, overwhelming emotions, self-doubt, or difficulty managing stress and relationships. My clients are often high-functioning but exhausted, motivated for change yet unsure where to start. They’re ready to do the work, even if they don’t have all the answers yet. If you’re someone who wants practical tools, honest feedback, and a therapist who will both support and challenge you, we’ll likely be a great fit. Together, we’ll focus on what's working, build on your strengths, and create real, sustainable change.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundational approach in my clinical practice, particularly in substance abuse counseling. My experience with CBT involves helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, cognitive distortions, and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress and substance use. I integrate CBT techniques such as thought records, behavioral activation, and cognitive restructuring to support clients in developing healthier coping strategies.
I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in my clinical practice to help clients identify and build on their existing strengths and resources. My approach emphasizes goal-setting, exploring exceptions to problems, and highlighting past successes to foster hope and motivation.
I guide clients in learning how to tolerate uncomfortable emotions without resorting to harmful behaviors and how to respond to stress with more balanced and intentional actions. DBT’s structured, skills-based format aligns well with relapse prevention and helps clients develop healthier coping mechanisms, improve emotional control, and strengthen interpersonal relationships.
