Welcome to Tidal Grove Counseling. I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families as they navigate anxiety, trauma, emotional stress, ADHD, life transitions, and personal growth. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care. In addition to my mental health background, I am also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) with experience supporting individuals and families through the reproductive life journey, including pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, parenting transitions, and identity changes related to family building. I strive to create a safe, affirming, supportive environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to build resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session at Tidal Grove Counseling is designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and understood. During this session, we will spend time getting to know you, discussing your current concerns, exploring your goals for therapy, and reviewing important background information that may help guide treatment. Clients can expect a collaborative and compassionate conversation focused on understanding what is bringing them to therapy and what they hope to gain from the process. We may discuss emotional, behavioral, family, school, relationship, or life stressors, as well as strengths, coping strategies, and areas where additional support may be helpful. For children and adolescents, the first session may also include caregiver involvement, depending on the client’s age and needs. Sessions are tailored to each individual and may incorporate discussion, skill-building, play-based interventions, or mindfulness techniques to help clients feel more at ease. The first session is also an opportunity to ask questions, discuss expectations, and begin building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, safety, and collaboration. Our goal is for clients to leave feeling supported, hopeful, and with a clearer understanding of how therapy can help them move toward their goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe being themselves while also helping them make meaningful progress toward their goals. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, so I tailor each session to the client’s developmental level, personality, strengths, and unique experiences. Clients often appreciate that sessions feel collaborative, approachable, and grounded in real-life application rather than purely clinical conversation.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

At Tidal Grove Counseling, we are best positioned to serve children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are seeking compassionate, practical, and evidence-based support for emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. We work especially well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, anxious, emotionally reactive, or uncertain about how to move forward but are open to growth, healing, and building healthier coping strategies.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This approach helps you build emotional resilience, develop self-awareness, and move toward a life guided by what is important to you rather than fear, avoidance, or overwhelming emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This approach helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is an evidence-based approach that supports you in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, developing healthier coping strategies, and creating meaningful behavioral change so you can act and feel the way you want to.

Trauma-Focused CBT

This approach helps support children, adolescents, and their caregivers who have experienced trauma or overwhelming life events. TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment approach designed to help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and build healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.
