New to Grow
Greetings! My name is Charnasta (shar-NAS-tah) Watson and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor here in the state of Florida. I earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida and my master's degree in Counseling & Psychology from Troy University. Throughout my clinical training, I prioritized working with individuals who have experienced traumatic experiences in addition to those struggling with anxiety, depression, anger issues, life transitions, burnout and other obstacles. I have experience providing mental heath counseling in a variety of settings such as co-occurring residential treatment, non-profit child advocacy, Telehealth, and correctional settings.
They first session is all about us getting to know each other. First, we will go over rules regarding consent to treatment such as confidentiality, privacy, review of myths and truths about therapy, and answer any questions you may have for me. I too will also ask questions such as your description of needs and goals for treatment, and anything else that will allow each of us the opportunity to get to know one another.
I strive to create a safe space where one can expect to feel heard, seen, and ultimately empowered to create the change within themselves they desire. My work consists of a collaborative approach that uses evidence-based practices in addition to utilizing aspects of each person's personal beliefs and values.
My ideal clients are individuals between adolescents and into adulthood who have been navigating several mental health diagnoses, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, life transitions, PTSD, and other mental health struggles and now seeking compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy. I enjoy helping individuals across the human lifespan with developing personal insight, strengthening themselves inward, and moving towards their personal goals.
