I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LMHC) and Educator in Florida. I have a counseling and mind-body healing practice in Miami and work for the Miami-Dade County Public School system as a School Counselor. I have mostly been working with and serving Miami-Dade youth and Miami-Dade educators over the last 20 years, helping them overcome self-doubt and anxious tendencies that keep them from self-awareness and connecting with their most peaceful, loving, and best versions of themselves.
At the beginning of our work together we will collectively set intentions and further investigate and reflect upon desired outcomes. This will help to best tailor a plan that uses our time together to redirect and empower energies to best create and service well-being in the present and future sessions.
Having worked with a variety of youth for the past 20 years, I have been able to hone my skills in communicating with a variety of young people, particularly creative and “out of the box” young people and assist them in becoming aware of and better integrating unrecognized capacities and allies within their lives, their work and their immediate community.
I have a passion for working with students (Teenagers/Young Adults) and educators who are committed to personal growth and deepening their life experiences. My clients seek to become the best versions of themselves but sometimes require support in taking the necessary steps to get there. They may often experience feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed, and at times feel insignificant due to the pressures and demands of the system.
I am trained in EMDR and recently began incorporating it into my work and practice.
Proficient in Cognitive Behavioral therapy since 2015. I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy while using CBT. I have been using Mindfulness-Based Therapy together with CBT for almost 9 years and incorporating it into my teachings and practice whenever possible.
I have continued to study and use elements of IFS in my practice for the past 4 years.
I have been educated in trauma-informed care and assisted in training educators to incorporate trauma-informed care in teaching and practice.
I have worked with and studied the Polyvagal Theory and other Mind-Body Approaches for over 27 years. I have incorporated elements of the different mind-body approaches theory into my healing work and practice. Polyvagal theory can be supportive of approaches like Grief Therapy, Gestalt, and other Integrative approaches.
