14 years of experience

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor from Chicago IL. I have 13 years of experience providing therapy to an array of clients such as caregivers of people living with Alzheimer's disease, as well as women, people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community. I have experience in working with people attempting to cope with many concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, grief, relational issues, career & work situations, self-esteem and caregiver stress. I was born and raised on the Westside of Chicago by a wonderful, dedicated single mother. She instilled in me the importance of education. I knew early on that I wanted to be in a helping profession. Navigating life as an black woman comes with many unique challenges. I choose this profession to support and guide others.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I want to learn more about your hopes and goals. We will review your concerns and together and develop a plan for success. You will learn more about my therapeutic style. My hope is that even after the first session, you will walk away with a new level of insight and hope for the future.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My professional background and life experience has prepared me to help guide you through life's most difficult challenges. I have lost many loved ones and continue to learn how to live with grief. I am also a mom to a toddler. Motherhood has proven to be one of the most beautiful and challenging experiences of my life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps us to understand the thoughts and beliefs that drive behavior and mood. CBT is a power tool to help reframe views of self and the world. CBT often involves homework assignments that allow you to practice what we have learned in your real life. CBT offers structure and a way to challenge yourself.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT helps you to recognize strengths and resources that are already at your disposal. It can be helpful to find means of coping and problem solving. Often, the solution is already in you.
