I'm Melissa, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a practicing School Counselor based in Michigan. I help teachers struggling with stress, anxiety and feelings of burnout work towards achieving work-life balance. We will start by identifying sources of tension in your professional and personal life that are causing you to feel overwhelmed and burnt out. Then, we will work on establishing boundaries and implementing coping skills that will be most effective for you. Through our work together, you'll have the skills to advocate for the changes you need and the strength to overcome the obstacles that you face in the future.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will focus primarily on getting to know each other, answering any questions you might have, and going over the information that you shared in your intake paperwork. I encourage you to be very intentional when setting up your environment for our virtual sessions. Find a comfy seat, grab a cozy blanket, light your favorite candle, and bring along a calming warm beverage.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I feel that one of my greatest strengths as a counselor is my ability to empathize with my clients. I can understand as an educator what it feels like being pulled in a million different directions. To have that never-ending to do list. I know that the demands keep coming, no matter what you have going on at home. I want to be that person who can listen as you vent but then also help you come up with solutions.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a passion for giving educators the support they need. I want to help you overcome the challenges that come with working in the classroom while also helping you maintain the life you deserve outside of the classroom.
