Hi! I am an LMSW (Licensed Master's in Social Work) therapist that has been working with clients experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, as well as a multitude of additional diagnoses over the past 2 years. I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2017 and spent several years working with clients in Specialized Residential facilities, as well as positions in case management, before finding my way back to individual therapy.
During a first session I like to spend time getting to know you and what brings you to seek out therapy at this time. Starting therapy can be a very vulnerable time in one's life, so I like to establish a safe space from the beginning. Once we have discussed primary concerns we will work together to create an initial plan for treatment.
I pride myself on being a therapist that is very relatable and personable. I am careful to recognize that each client is an individual and that each plan needs to be tailored and adjusted to you.
I specialize with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, as well as life transitions.
I have been using CBT in my practice for the last 3 years to help with recognizing thoughts and behaviors that have been occurring. Through the recognition we will then work to challenge these thoughts and behaviors to determine the root cause, as well as establish an array of coping skills, techniques, and thought restructuring.
