Hi, I'm a licensed master's of social work based in Michigan with over twenty years of experience. The last eight years have been specifically in behavioral health. I'm passionate about working with adults of all ages. I thrive to provide a judgement free environment where clients have a safe space to explore and grow. I also help clients develop coping strategies and work toward their goals.
In our first session, we will get to know each other. I will want to find out what brought you to therapy and what you hope will get better in your life as a result of working together.
My ability to be open to many different perspectives and meet patients where they are at in their journey.
I help clients identify their values and develop attainable goals. I also incorporate mindfulness to help patients cope with difficult emotions.
I use this model to show how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected. I review examples of cognitive distortions and help client's learn to question their negative thoughts.
I provide psychoeducation on the grief process. I also help clients identify grief activities that can help them through the grief process.
I teach mindfulness as either a formal or informal practice. During sessions with clients, we may practice some of these different techniques.
I have received extensive motivational interviewing training. I use this method when helping clients navigate change in their lives.
