I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share my background, as I believe my experience may be of value to you. With 37 years of lived experience alongside family members facing severe mental challenges, I have gained a deep understanding of the unique struggles that individuals and families encounter in these situations. My professional journey in the mental health field spans over 12 years, during which I have worked closely with various communities, including those transitioning from in-patient mental health facilities. Having grown here and choosing to raise my family in this community, I have a strong connection to the values of country life. My experiences working on local farms have further enriched my perspective and resilience. The mental health field chose me, offering a sense of purpose in navigating my own life challenges. I am passionate about helping individuals find their path towards healing, and I bring experience in both addiction and recovery. Additionally, I am committed to creating an affirming environment for everyone, including those in the LGBTQ community. I would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss how I can support you or your loved ones in navigating these challenging times. Please feel free to reach out at your convenience.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am look forward to our first session together, which will serve as an opportunity for us to get to know each other better. My aim is to create a comfortable and open working environment where we can discuss your goals and expectations. During our first meeting, I will gather some basic background information from you, which will help us align our efforts for an effective treatment plan moving forward. Please feel free to share any relevant experiences or topics you would like to discuss during your following treatments.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that my biggest strength is my genuine interest in getting to know people and understanding their diverse ways of life. I find that approaching conversations with curiosity, especially with those who choose to live their lives in an unconventional way, enriches my understanding of their world. I believe it is essential to create an open environment where individuals can share their life experiences and perspectives freely. I appreciate the opportunity to learn about your unique journey, as it allows me to separate my personal beliefs from the valuable insights' others have to offer. As someone who has navigated the challenges of my personal adolescent trauma, I have dedicated myself to transforming my personal experiences into a source of strength for others. I believe that understanding each of our unique journeys is essential, and while no two experiences are alike, my own has equipped me with valuable insights that enable me to empathize with those facing similar circumstances. For the past four years, I have focused on assisting individuals in managing their mental health, primarily around helping them avoid psychiatric inpatient hospitalizations, by teaching effective strategies for symptom management. This commitment has not only contributed to their improved quality of life but has also given most a deeper understanding of their mental health.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I truly believe that I connect best with those dealing with symptoms of ADHD, mood disorders, trauma—both childhood and adult—as well as PTSD and associated challenges like suicidal ideations, depression, anxiety, and self-harm. My background in these areas has equipped me to offer meaningful support and treatment to a wide range of individuals, from adolescents to seniors. Creating a compassionate and understanding environment is at the heart of my practice. I am dedicated to prioritizing the well-being of everyone I care for and helping them navigate their challenges with empathy and respect.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is something I practice every day, which is linked to my own Trauma experiences. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps you identify and change unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns. It focuses on how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and teaches you practical strategies to improve your mood and how you respond to challenging situations.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, is a type of talk therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, build healthier relationships, and tolerate distress. It combines acceptance of difficult emotions with a focus on changing unhelpful behaviors.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is about paying attention to the present moment, without judgment, as it is. It's like being fully present and aware of your surroundings, thoughts, and feelings, without getting carried away by them. Essentially, mindfulness is about observing your experiences with curiosity and acceptance.

Trauma Informed Care

I have 37 years of lived Experience and attended multiple training to help others in this Key Area.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counseling approach that helps people find the motivation to make positive behavioral changes by exploring and resolving any ambivalence they may have about change.
