LMSW-C, 6 years of experience
Hello, My name is Jennifer Bardon, a LCSW certified professional in the state of Michigan. Social work and behavioral therapy are my passions because helping others is truly what motivates and rewards me the most. Since receiving a BSW (Bachelors, Social Work) and MSW (Masters, Social Work) from Wayne State University, Detroit, nearly six years ago, I have been developing and practicing methods to better understand the human condition and how to modify it to help others through personal conflicts and struggles from insecurities, anxiety, depression, self esteem and so much more. Incorporating mindfulness techniques to assist clients with centering themselves, and focusing on the present, as well as challenging negative thoughts, is one of my many strengths. I have experience with working with children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities. As a clinician that practices Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) certified professional, you can be confident I have the skill-set necessary to work with a diverse array of clients. My focus is "You" the individual, and I encourage all my clients to help assist in utilizing and engaging in the recommended treatments thus giving them needed satisfaction in their own successes. Note: Evenings and weekends are open for clients who have a busy work week or find those times most convenient. I do offer some flexibility if appointments are requested outside of my usual available times.
In our first session, I like to spend time getting to know you and giving you space to guide the conversation. This helps me understand what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to work on. Together, we’ll collaborate to create a plan that supports your goals and aspirations, and ensures therapy is meaningful and effective for you.
As a social worker, I strongly embrace a person-centered approach. I believe my clients are the experts in their own lives, and I strive to honor their insight and lived experience. I have experience working with a diverse range of individuals and specialize in supporting clients with depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities. I bring an approachable, empathetic presence to my work, and I aim to truly understand my clients by doing my best to ‘walk a mile in their shoes.’
I love working with clients who are motivated to partner in their own growth and success. I believe that every victory, no matter how small, is meaningful and worth celebrating. I am certified to work with both children and adults, and I’m committed to creating a supportive, collaborative space for each person I serve.
I have become DBT certified to assist people people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

I feel like it was a good intake. She is going to be sending me some homework to do and gave me some things to start working on in order to start healing my mind. I am going to start incorporating the ideas that she gave me.
