Hi there! I'm Courtney - a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) therapist in Texas with over 12 years experience counseling adults. My clinical focus areas: anxiety, stress, panic attacks, trauma and PTSD, depression, grief/loss, ADHD, career issues, OCD, divorce, relationship concerns, coping with a serious or chronic illness, chronic pain, coping with a cancer diagnosis, and many other concerns. I use many evidence-based therapies that help people move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered and ready to resolve tough issues.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After some introductory questions we will get into the heart of the problems you're facing. Then, we will work together toward a plan to address your concerns, and discuss a plan for follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Keeping your needs and goals at the heart of our work together is important to me. As a compassionate, supportive therapist for over 12 years, I aim to create a comfortable space for you to share your concerns so we can best address and help resolve them. I offer support and encouragement while focusing on your personal strengths!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps you better understand how your thoughts, your feelings/emotions, and your behaviors all affect what's happening in your life. CBT can help us figure out ways to improve the current issues you're facing.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy provides a compassionate, welcoming, and safe space for you to discuss your concerns. This therapy also helps put you in the driver seat of your own life and your own choices to keep you at the focus of all the work we do in counseling. This approach also helps me to best tailor your treatment to your individual, specific needs and goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy helps with unique tools and techniques that can better prepare you to cope with stress, anxiety, and difficulties in life. Calming and relaxation techniques are essential to learning ways to behaviorally reduce the stresses you feel. Mindfulness exercises and meditation can be incorporated, to your comfort level.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy uses your brain's own natural ability to heal itself by engaging in a therapist-guided session. During an EMDR session, your therapist asks you to either tap yourself or move your eyes in a certain pattern that ignites your brain's healing capacity - this is known as Bilateral Stimulation (BLS). BLS allows you to process through painful or traumatic experiences in the past (or even future worries) and then move forward and heal from these. I'm trained in EMDR therapy, so if interested, I would be happy to help you!

Trauma Informed Care

TIC approach helps focus on healing and recovering from traumatic, difficult experiences you may have encountered along life's path. Practicing as a trauma-informed therapist means you can process through tough events and discuss emotions in a safe space.
