Nick Riemenschneider

LPCC, 4 years of experience

About me

Hi, my name is Nick Riemenschneider, pronounced Ree-Men-Shn(eye)-Der. I am a fully licensed Master's level clinical counselor (LPCC) in Kentucky. I have been doing this work since 2019. I believe every client is unique and whatever issues they are facing are unique from their perspective. I often find myself teaching my clients self-love and conscious awareness. Self-Love is crucial and my motto is: Know Self, Accept Self, Love Self. I might add that Self-Love and Selfishness are two different attitudes. Conscious awareness is important because you can't change anything you are not aware needs to be changed.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Usually, I begin with an exploration of childhood experiences. I find that the root of the issue often lies within the first 8 years of a person's life. I believe every client deserves to experience validation which is to be seen, heard, and acknowledged. They also deserve to experience unconditional positive regard, a sense of acceptance, belonging, and value, and a reasonable amount of joy. These are basic needs that are often unmet in childhood and unmet needs develop into problematic patterns of thought and behavior as the person grows older.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my ability to connect with people and my broad range of life experiences. Since childhood, I have always been interested in human behavior. However, I grew up in an abusive home and that altered my course for some time. My journey of healing and self-searching resulted in a variety of life experiences. Somehow, I survived the challenges that came with those experiences including addiction, multiple relocations, failed relationships, severe financial challenges, loss of income and support, car accidents, fear, anxiety, depression, and low self-confidence. This is my passion. I am motivated by my experience and belief that people deserve to be cared about.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients are typically individual adults seeking to reduce or eliminate symptoms commonly associated with trauma including but not limited to anxiety and depression. These symptoms are often present in disorders such as PTSD, ASD, ADHD, Bipolar, Addictions, and Grief. My goal is to help individuals navigate these issues to achieve a better life experience.
