New to Grow
My name is Sandra and I am a LCSW, licensed to practice in TN and KY. I am an empathetic and compassionate individual who is passionate about helping clients navigate their unique challenges. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and other mental health struggles, using cognitive-behavioral techniques and other appropriate methods, offering a safe and non-judgmental environment. I believe that anyone can benefit from a safe space to explore their emotions and learn coping skills. I am also fluent in German, and if you are ready to take the next step towards a more fulfilling life, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and self-actualization.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In my first session, I will provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space, hearing your problems and concerns. With a collaborative approach, you can talk about your fears and dreams, and explore any life experiences and challenges. Meeting me in that first session, I always encourage my clients to be as open as they want to be, there is no pressure, and to not be afraid to open doors that might have been closed for so long, I will walk right beside you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Being in a supportive therapy setting can make a great difference. While the use of different treatment types can provide the basic direction we would like to go, more importantly, having a strong therapeutic relationship can provide the impact and positive outcome you seek. To me, that therapeutic relationship is important and offering this as a first step can make a huge difference in progress made in and outside of sessions. I take great pride in being open and understanding, and I will be honored to become a part of your healing journey.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is an individual who is ready to improve themselves and want to change some of their maladaptive thinking patterns and the influence those have on them. Together, we will work on concerns and treatment goals, and improve things that might have been to hart to do on your own.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a evidence based modality that I use often to better understand my clients current thought process and to help them change negative thoughts. I have helped so many clients understand that their faulty way of thinking has contributed to their emotions and behavior, and that we can also change our view a little bit to feel less anxious or worry less about ourselves and others.
Compassion Focused
I use compassion focused therapy often with my clients to shift their shame and self-criticism to self-compassion, using different techniques, such as mindfulness and compassion-based tools.
Strength-Based
A strength-based approach can be used in a collaborative and solution-focused way to foster a positive mindset, improve self-esteem, and encourage my clients to see themselves as self-sufficient.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I use TF-CBT to provide psychoeducation, relaxation techniques, emotional regulation, cognitive coping tools, as well as other trauma appropriate interventions to help my clients process their trauma and reduce their symptoms.
