Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisor credentials, located in Ohio. I have 9 years of experience in community and office-based counseling, and am specifically using tele-therapy for my platform. I have been married for 42 years, raised three children, and have 8 grandchildren and hoping for more. I come from a family of eleven and my parents modeled to me what an amazing marriage should be. I went back to school later in life to become a counselor due to a career change. It has been the best unexpected gift for my life as I love the amazing people I get to meet.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will ask questions to gain a basic knowledge of who you are. I will ask why you are seeking counseling and then share a game plan with you about future sessions. Then, we will just talk a little bit more about your goals and expectations. My approach leans toward solution focused therapy, as I believe that unless the stressful issues that we deal with every day are resolved, we cannot focus on our mental health, because we are going back into the same situations that cause the issues. I encourage my clients to find hope for the future, for without hope, we cannot continue.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I use a combination of supportive, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, faith, and strengths based approaches based on your needs. I believe that counseling is a collaborative experience and I will work to help you identify your personal and mental health goals, while helping you utilize your strengths to live to your full potential. I use common sense, encouragement, and humor to make you feel comfortable to share your most vulnerable self.
