I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 40 years of experience. I work with individuals and couples, providing a warm, supportive, and practical approach to therapy. My focus is on helping you better understand yourself, your patterns, and your relationships, while also guiding you toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels manageable.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, low-pressure way. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’d like to see change, and any questions you may have about therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. Many people come in feeling unsure or overwhelmed, and that’s completely okay. My goal is to help you feel at ease, understood, and supported. We’ll begin to explore patterns, concerns, and goals at a pace that feels manageable. Together, we’ll start identifying a direction that feels realistic and helpful for you, whether you’re coming in as an individual or as a couple
My greatest strength is helping clients turn insight into meaningful, lasting change. Many people already have some awareness of what’s going on, but feel stuck in patterns that are difficult to shift on their own. With over 40 years of experience, I bring both depth and perspective to my work, including time spent as a clinical and executive director in inpatient settings. I’m able to quickly identify patterns while still providing a warm, nonjudgmental space. My approach is both supportive and practical. I help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also guiding them toward manageable, real-life steps forward. I work with individuals and couples, and offer EMDR to help process past experiences when appropriate
I work best with individuals and couples who are thoughtful, self-aware, and open to better understanding themselves and their patterns. Many of my clients feel stuck or uncertain about how to move forward, even though they have insight into what’s going on. They may be navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or patterns that no longer serve them. My clients are often looking for more than just a place to talk—they want clarity, direction, and meaningful change. They are open to exploring underlying patterns and are willing to take manageable steps toward improving their lives and relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a practical tool to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or reacting in ways that aren’t helpful. I integrate CBT in a flexible, supportive way—helping clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, develop more balanced perspectives, and take manageable steps toward change. My goal is not just insight, but helping clients apply what they learn in their daily lives so change feels realistic and lasting
Couples Counseling
In couples counseling, I focus on helping both partners feel heard, understood, and respected, while also identifying the patterns that keep you feeling stuck. Many couples come in having the same conversations over and over without resolution, which can lead to frustration and disconnection. I help you slow those interactions down, improve communication, and better understand each other’s perspectives and emotional responses. From there, we work on building healthier ways of relating, resolving conflict more effectively, and strengthening connection. My approach is balanced and nonjudgmental, supporting both partners while helping the relationship move forward in a more positive and stable direction.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients move toward meaningful change in a practical, forward-focused way. While understanding patterns is important, we also focus on identifying strengths, building on what is already working, and taking small, manageable steps toward your goals. This approach helps create momentum and allows change to feel more achievable and less overwhelming
