Hi, I’m Shannon, and I’m really glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the start. I work with individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what’s next in their lives. Many of my clients come to me for support with anxiety, depression, and life transitions—whether that’s navigating changes in relationships, career paths, identity, or overall direction. I also support children with challenges related to school, self-esteem, ADHD, and anxiety, helping them build confidence, coping skills, and emotional awareness in a supportive and age-appropriate way. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical. I often use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be holding you back and develop tools you can use in your everyday life to manage stress, build confidence, and move forward with intention. I believe therapy should not only help you feel better, but also give you skills that last beyond our sessions. Whether you’re working through a difficult period or simply looking for more direction and clarity, I’m here to support you in a way that feels approachable, grounded, and tailored to your needs. You don’t have to figure it all out alone—I’m here to help.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll start with introductions and take some time to get to know each other at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I understand that starting therapy can bring up a mix of emotions—sometimes relief, sometimes uncertainty—and that’s completely normal. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. Before we meet, I’ll have reviewed your intake form so I have a general understanding of what brings you in. During our session, you’ll have the opportunity to share more about your experiences, concerns, and what’s been weighing on you, in your own words. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to—this is your space. We’ll also spend time talking about what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. Some individuals come in with very clear goals, while others are still figuring that out—and both are completely okay. Part of my role is to help you gain clarity around what you need and what meaningful progress might look like for you. Together, we’ll begin creating a treatment plan that includes realistic, attainable goals. These goals are meant to guide our work and give us a sense of direction, while still allowing flexibility as your needs evolve over time. Whether your focus is managing anxiety, improving mood, navigating a life transition, building confidence, or something else, we’ll break things down into manageable steps so progress feels achievable. I’ll walk you through how the therapy process works so you know what to expect moving forward. This includes how often we might meet, what sessions typically look like, and how we’ll work together. My approach is collaborative, which means we’ll be actively working as a team. Just as importantly, the first session is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for me and how I work. Feeling comfortable and supported in therapy is essential, and I want this to be a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and a bit more at ease about the process. Even if things still feel uncertain, you’ll have a clearer sense of what to expect and a starting point for the work we’ll do together. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. We’ll take this one step at a time, at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over 17 years of experience, I bring a steady, grounded presence to sessions while also helping individuals actively move forward—not just talk about what’s wrong, but build tools to create real change. I focus on helping individuals understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and then work collaboratively to shift those patterns using practical, everyday strategies. I strive to create a space that feels safe and supportive, but also purposeful. I meet you where you are, while also gently challenging you toward meaningful change. My experience working with children, teens, and adults allows me to adapt my approach so it feels relevant, engaging, and effective at any stage of life. My goal is not only to help you feel better in the moment, but to help you build confidence, clarity, and skills that last well beyond our time in therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with individuals who are at a point where they’re asking, “What’s next for me?”—whether that’s around career, purpose, or overall life direction. I support people dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress, especially when it’s tied to life transitions or feeling stuck. I enjoy working with teens through adults, and I’m especially drawn to creative, introspective individuals who want to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes. A lot of my work focuses on helping clients build practical tools to manage anxiety, improve balance, and feel more confident in their decisions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, throughout my 17 years as a practicing therapist, and it’s one of the core frameworks I rely on in my work with clients. I tend to integrate CBT with other modalities depending on the client’s needs, but CBT often serves as a strong foundation because it’s structured, evidence-based, and goal-oriented. I also focus on making sure clients can apply what they learn outside of sessions, so there’s a real emphasis on skill-building, homework, and ongoing reflection.
