LISW, 17 years of experience
Hello, my name is Meca, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I have been serving in the field of social work for over 15 years. I truly believe that God called me to this work—it is my purpose to serve, support, and empower others on their healing journey. I believe that every person has the capacity to heal from their past traumas. With consistent practice of healthy coping skills, we can learn to understand, manage, and regulate our emotions in healthier ways. My role is to walk alongside you, support your growth, and help you reach the point where you believe in your own strength, resilience, and healing.
In our first session, we will spend time completing the necessary program paperwork and beginning to build a strong therapeutic relationship. This includes getting to know you, creating a safe and comfortable environment, and validating your feelings and experiences. Our goal is to establish trust and set the foundation for the work we will do together.
My greatest strengths as a therapist include being a compassionate and attentive listener who is down to earth, nonjudgmental, and deeply understanding. I take a holistic and spiritual approach to healing, honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit as we work together toward growth and emotional well-being.
I look forward to working with clients who are willing and ready to make meaningful changes in their lives.
As a therapist who uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I teach my clients how to identify the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we work to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with healthier, more balanced perspectives that support positive and lasting change.
As a therapist who uses Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), I work collaboratively with my clients to define their desired future, identify their existing strengths, and recognize exceptions to the problem. Together, we develop practical, small, and achievable steps that support progress toward their goals.
As a therapist who uses Eclectic Therapy, I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. By combining techniques and insights from various schools of psychotherapy, I am able to create a personalized and flexible treatment plan that best supports each individual’s healing and growth.
As a therapist trained in EMDR, I help clients identify traumatic targets, understand the EMDR process, and develop effective coping skills. Using guided imagery and bilateral stimulation, I support clients in reprocessing distressing memories and installing healthier, positive beliefs about themselves.
