New to Grow
Hello my name is Meca and I am a licensed independent social worker. I have been working in the field of social work for a little over 15 years. I was called to be a social worker by God as it is my purpose in life to serve others in helping others help themselves. I believe that we all have the ability to heal from our past traumas. I also believe that with practicing daily coping skills that we can learn how to manage and cope with our emotions. My role is to help you to get to the point in your life where you believe in your own healing.
In our first session we will work completing program paperwork, and on building rapport and validating your feelings.
My greatest strength as a therapist is I am a great listener, "down to earth, non judgmental, understanding, holistic and spiritual.
I look forward to working with clients who are willing and ready to make a change in their lives,.
As a therapist who uses (CBT) I teach my clients how to identify the connection between their thoughts, feelings, behavior's, then challenge unhelpful thinking patterns to foster positive change.
As a therapist who uses (SFT) I collaboratively help guide my clients to define their desired future, identify existing strengths and expectations to problem, and develop practical, small steps to achieve their goals.
As a therapist who uses (SB) I establish a collaborative relationship with my clients to help them identify their core strengths through open-ended questions,, strength lists, and strengths journaling. I help my clients reframe their perceived weaknesses as potential strengths, and work though together to create a strengths-aligned action plan to help clients achieve their goals.
As a therapist who uses Eclectic Therapy with my clients I am able to combine techniques and insights from various schools of psychotherapy to create a customized treatment plan for each individual client.
As a therapist who is trained in EMDR, I help my clients identify traumatic targets, explain the process, teach coping skills, and use guided imagery and bilateral stimulation to help my clients reprocess their memories to install positive beliefs about themselves.
