New to Grow
Hi, I'm Drew. Over the past 30 years, I've had the privilege of working as a clinician in a wide range of settings, including inpatient mental health, inpatient substance abuse treatment, outpatient settings, adolescent treatment, adult care, older adult care, and even within the criminal justice system. Each of these experiences has shaped my approach to therapy, allowing me to connect with clients from all walks of life and understand their unique challenges and strengths. Personally, I'm a proud Navy veteran and an Ohio State University alumnus (Go Bucks!). I've been married for over 30 years and am a father of one. These personal experiences have deeply influenced my perspective and commitment to helping others navigate their own life journeys. If you're struggling with issues related to addiction, anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, developmental disabilities, grief/bereavement, life transitions, medical issues/physical health, phobias, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, learning disorders, spirituality, stress, trauma, or traumatic brain injury, I'm here to help. I offer Video Telehealth for virtual sessions. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we can work towards finding solutions and strategies that empower you to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life. If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you on your journey.
The first session I am just getting to know you and your situation. I want to know the pain and discomfort you are experiencing. Also I will ask a lot of general life background things to get to know you.
My strengths as a therapist include being real, direct, but also have empathy to be able to communicate in a way in a way people can be open to hear the message. I have a wide range of experiences. I have worked in the inner city as a caseworker, emergency room settings dealing with psychiatric crises, and drug treatment centers. I have quite a lot of experience.
I'm best positioned to serve clients who are looking for practical, goal oriented support, and are open to learning new coping skills, and taking gradual, meaningful steps toward change.
Other specialties
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavioral therapy because it helps understand how thoughts, feelings an behaviors are connected. I utilize this to engage and challenge negative thinking and develop healthier coping skills to better manage problems in everyday live.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use solution focused treatment because it helps focus on what is working and what to improve instead of only talking about problems. It encourages to set clear goals, recognize strengths, and take small realistic steps toward change. This approach is more practical, hopeful and people see progress quickly.
